Wonderful tour. Our guide was enthusiastic, and quite knowledgeable. We had a visually impaired friend with us, and are guide was excellent at describing things to our friend. I bought the book, The battle of Franklin,by James Knight, while there, and look forward to reading it once back to New Jersey. When we went across the street to the Carter House, James was our guide!! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and I for one learned something about a battle I knew nothing about. Well done.

Just wanted to let people know that this was an awesome experience that I shared with my wife and two children. They enjoyed as well. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable of the Battle of Franklin. Went out of his way to explain any questions we had. Was very appreciative of us coming to see this beautiful historic home. Glad that it was saved and is now being taken care of and teaching the future generations of the Civil War history. If you love the Civil War then you will Love this house and the story it has.

We loved the authenic furniture and the family story. We bought the books written by Hicks about the Battle and Gen John Bell Hood.

The Lotz house is one of several in the area that are Civil War attractions. I am so pleased that this house was able to be restored and open to the public. The tour is most interesting and informative. The house has a magnificent collection of furniture and china---including Belter and Mallard. While not original to the house, the period effect is fantastic. The lives of the man who built it and his family are well researched. The gift shop is well stocked with books and memorabilia. Well worth the stop.
