Description: Granite City Food & Brewery(R), a casual dining restaurant with an on-site brewery. Our initial restaurant commenced operations in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in June 1999. Our second restaurant, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, commenced operations in December 2000, and our third restaurant opened to the public November 20, 2001 in Fargo, North Dakota. We now have 26 stores operating in 11 different states. At Granite City Food & Brewery(R), we serve signature beers, including Duke of Wellington (an English ale) and Broad Axe Stout (an authentic Irish beer), and entrees such as London broil. We offer a broad menu of items that are prepared fresh daily and are served in generous portions at reasonable prices. Our handcrafted beers are moderately priced and offer unique styles and flavors not typically produced by major breweries. Our founders, Mr. Wagenheim and Mr. Burdick, have over 52 years of combined hospitality industry experience. Mr. Wagenheim's experience includes that of corporate executive, owner/operator, manager and consultant for hotels, resorts, and individual and multi-unit restaurant operations. Mr. Burdick, a brewing chemist, has over 30 years experience in the restaurant, hospitality and brewing industry in both corporate and private positions. Fermentus Interruptus™Shortly before we opened our third store, we launched our patented brewing process, Fermentus Interruptus™, which makes micro brewing for multiple locations more efficient. This process, conceived and designed by Mr. Burdick, allows us to ship sweet liquid called wort, from our central brewing facility to individual stores. When this liquid reaches the stores, we begin the fermentation process and complete the brewing. We use Fermentus Interruptus at all of our Granite City Food & Brewery(R) locations.

I only came in for drinks but I'm loving the atmosphere in this place. I can't wait to check it out again! Usually our friends get together at Jonathan's but I am hoping this is our new spot!

Granite City Food & Brewery Franklin was really busy yesterday when we decided to stop by for a lunch. We each had a salad and soup - he had the French onion soup and a Chopped Salad and I chose the signature Ale Cheese Soup and an Asian Salad. The restaurant brews their own beers and there are so many to choose from.

So, this place is gonna be a big hit in cool springs. I visited last weekend and had a great experience. They have a mug club for those of us that like the beer. They have a good selection of their own brewed beers. We had BBQ pork chops and shrimp tacos. Both were off the charts! Little tip...the shrimps is spicy! So go in slow and check them out before you gobble them down. Atmosphere is trendy and the crowd is a mix of all ages, locals and visitors, couples and families. Prices are reasonable for what ya get and I can't wait to go back for more this weekend! Go early if ya don't like to wait!

Visited with a group of 5 for lunch, greeted by a modern casual but chic decor and attentive hostess. The lunch menu has a decent variety of main menu items. Our table ordered water with lemon to drink, my main complaint, small glass carafe for 5, none of us got enough, note to owner in the south women drink water with lemon water for lunch. Other than that, Asian salad was good and all meals came with a soup. soup special was excellent, chicken with rice, but french onion was so, so. The manager came to check on us which was nice. One of the menu items was missing an ingredient for which the management apologized. I want to love it, love the atmosphere, but there is some work to be done. They get another try. Cocktail menu was expansive, good wine by the glass deals, happy hour from 3-6 would love to get back to try the vodka mussels.
