“Pretty Good Mexican Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is not my favorite place in Nashville. They do pretty good work and the service is good. Lots of people love this place, but they focus a lot on cilantro based dishes (not my favorite). It is definitely worth a try, since so many people really like it, it is just not my thing.

“Great Food and Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The food was very, very good and plentiful. Our waiter was Cary and was very helpful in explaining the different dishes. Wait time was about 5 minutes on a Saturday afternoon.

“Muy bueno”

We loved the laid back atmosphere and decor in Chuy's. The chips and salsa are excellent. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waiter recommended the El Presidente dish and it was really good.

“Go for the great atmosphere, not the food!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

The atmosphere at Chuy's is great fun and sitting on their wonderful patio makes the visit worthwhile but don't go expecting to get good food....you're better off having a cold drink. The burritos don't begin to compare to the fresh burritos at places like Blue Coast Burrito or Baja Burrito: very little flavor and the tortilla was even slightly greasy: yuck! (I'm not talking chimichangas!) The fish tacos aren't remotely in the same category as the wonderful fish tacos at Garcias in Franklin or Sopapillas in Brentwood: very blah. Basically, Chuy's covers everything in cheese in hopes that you'll forget that food needs a correct blending of spices and flavors to be tasty. Their fajitas are very so-so and once again, if you want really delicious fajitas, head to Garcia's in Franklin: their fajitas are wonderfully flavored and not greasy! The tres leches dessert is unfortunately among the worst tres leches cake I've ever eaten. The whole idea of tres leches is to have moisture in the cake. It should not be dry. Chuys does have nice crispy tortilla chips and their service is always friendly but let me make this clear: don't come here for good food. It's a Taco Bell in full-service restaurant disguise.
