“Great overview of the Battlefield in Franklin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

This place is free and the best place to see what the rebels faced, There are maps to explain what happened. Visit Fort Grainger for the Yankee's view of the battlefield.

“Great little bit of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

First the map is wrong, the park is farther up the road then it shows on the map.
This park has a lot of plaques describing the officers that are honored and a very detailed relief map of the battle. It is very pro confederate, we found that interesting and unique.

“Well kept park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

This park is owned and maintained by the Sons of Confederate Veterans (Sam Davis Camp) and it well kept. Parking is easy and you can get a view from much of Franklin atop the hill. You'll look out over the battlefield just the same as Gen. Hood did just before he blundered the battle for the CSA. Be prepared to hike up a steep trail and bring the proper shoes. There's also a geocache in this park so bring the kids and a GPS!

“The Battle of Franklin Confederate Position”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

The hill looks Northeast over the city. Although hard to picture the 1860's view, it does offer a nice view.
