Grounds were well kept up.

This is probably the worst Comfort Inn (or like hotel) that I have ever stayed in. When we checked in, we were told we were staying in a non-smoking room. The door (room #107) did not indicate it was a non-smoking room (though other rooms did have that designation), and sure enough, when we opened the door, the smell of smoke just billowed out. But what really spoiled it was that the toilet seat actually had blood on it. Not sure how that could be considered clean. So, when I went to the front desk to ask for another room, I was informed that they had none available. He also assured me it was a non-smoking room, only that people still smoked in it sometimes (beyond their control). Behind him were all the room keys for reservations of people who had not checked in yet. Could he have swapped rooms for someone who had yet to check in (and re-cleaned the room he gave us)? Sure. Was he willing to do that? No. He basically said we could check out and leave, or he could come down and disinfect the toilet. As the Nashville area was basically full due to a football game, we had to stay.

Other issues: the framed art on the walls had water stains and was moldy. Is this a huge issue? No. Could they have taken $20 out of petty cash and gone to the Goodwill down the street and bought some non-moldy art for the walls? Sure. But they obviously don't care. The chairs had cigarette burns on the upholstery (odd for a non-smoking room) and they were also chipped up and run down looking. There were small holes in the wall behind the bed. The room was generally not up to any expectation of clean (the top of the refrigerator, for example, was not wiped down. The carpeting had tears, etc., etc. Really, this should be a 1 1/2 star property, maybe 2 stars at most. Not 2 1/2 or whatever it is rated.

The complimentary breakfast was fine for what it was. No complaints there. I didn't feel unsafe in the room. The A/C worked. It is what it is.

Room Tip: Avoid room #107. Make sure if you ask for a non-smoking room, that you get one.

Room location was directly next to the elevator....when we asked for a room change desk clerk said none were available. The carpeting was soiled and the surround in the tub ( next to the toilet ) was moldy. The counter tops for the sink were extremely in height?? The tv was a nice looking tv but only had analog stations and was not plugged in on arrival (desk clerk came to fix and said it happens all the time?) light at bedside needed light bulb replaced ( another trip for the desk clerk) and the grand finalewas the door to the room which was not aligned and had to be slammed forcefully to close and difficult to open...safety hazard here....warning never stay in room 207! No way would I stay at this hotel again...there was a reason that Holiday Inn dumped this building.

...and our first stay in a Baymont Inn. We were greeted at the front desk by a nice, polite young man who was very helpful with directions. Our room was clean and spacious enough that the three of us didn't feel crowded. The snacks in the room were a nice surprise and we thoroughly enjoyed being on the back away from any noise from the highway. Although the vacuum cleaner in the hallway was going a little early, the rest of the visit was very pleasant. The air conditioner in our room did a great job keeping us cool. We will definitely stay here in the future and will recommend it to friends.
