“Great local spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Food is always good and fresh. They have a full service bar. The resturant is in an old jail, so the building has alot of history.

“A ton of potential”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2014

We've tried Cahoots several times...lunch mostly...dinner a few times. What we are always left with is that there is untapped potential at this venue. First things first...order the chicken fingers...they're in the top three of the best I've ever had. They beat the pants off the so-called chicken specialists in town. Add a baked potato to that, and you've got a great lunch. The sandwiches are good. I don't think salads are necessarily their strong point. The staff is amazing. The servers have mostly been there for years and they are top-notch for friendliness and attentiveness. Where Cahoots has opportunity is the physical plant itself. Invest in a heating system so that on very cold days, the only comfortable places to sit aren't those confined to near a space heater you have turned up full blast. Invest in some new tables and chairs. Spruce up the building. This town needs a restaurant to step up and be the place to go. The place where consistent quality and customer service is a given. I think a restaurant owner would be amazed at the volume of business if they chose to always get it right. There are a couple who are close. And then there is Cahoots that could be close if they chose to be.

“READ AND UNDERSTAND MENU PRICING”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013

Just returned from the Host of Christmas Past festival in Fayetteville, TN and opted for this place to dine on Friday evening since we agreed it would be neat to experience dining in the old jail. While the building is quite unique with thick concrete walls and bars and cells where you can actually have a meal, the owner was not very friendly or accommodating upon our arrival. Said we needed a reservation to eat in one of the cells. Okay, so we did not know about that...no big deal. We had a questions regarding sides that came with entrée meals, so we asked the waitress and thought we confirmed everything. Salads were crisp and fresh; food was served hot and very tasty. Our server was excellent. When we were ready to pay the bill, we were "overcharged" and tried to explain to the owner that the waitress indicated the sides came with the meals. What was originally a $7.95 meal ended up over $14.00 (with no alcohol). Do not know if there was a language barrier or if she was just having a bad day, but the owner could have cared less and we were unimpressed with her overall attitude. Needless to say, the four of us who would have ordinarily recommended the place to others visiting the area will not be returning...there are many options in the vicinity. I understand there is a very good buffet (Marvin's - would have probably appreciated our business) and am sorry we did not know about it before we chose to dine at Cahoot's.

“Dine in the jailhouse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

We found cahoots via tripadvisor and saw some mixed messages.
One message was about that Cahoots closed down.
Which is certainly not the case! We had a wonderful dining event in the old jailhouse, nice service and good food.

“Just okay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

This was not our first choice for dining, but since our other choices were not open for dinner, we stopped here. We started with an appetizer of fried dill pickles and buffalo chicken bites. The pickles were good, but the chicken had too much sauce for my liking. I had the chicken enchiladas which were so-so. They came with chopped tomatoes and a lettuce on the side. My husband had the Cajun chicken salad which was adequate for a meal. The ingredients were fresh. Our server was friendly and attentive.
