We were traveling through Tennessee and it was snowing and twilight. We decided to pull over at Dickson instead of driving in the snow on to Nashville. This is certainly an older property - I will give you that. However, it was very, very clean. The lighting in the room was good. You could read in bed! There was a microwave and fridge. We ate at Charleys which was close by and excellent. All that and the beds were good.

Room Tip: We like the first floor

My visit was actually 8/10, but I just noticed that my spam filter ate the confirmation email.

Room 239

summary:
From the previous reviews, it looks like the rooms at this motel are a hit-or-miss. Unfortunately, mine was a miss.

The good:
I was greeted immediately on the lobby, despite getting in at 11:00. The teller was very polite, and even quoted me the coupon price over the phone before I'd noticed there was one. The lobby, and what I could see of the breakfast area were in good condition.

The bad:
My room was situated on the back side of the second (older?) building next to the woods. the room was in fair condition (see next section). It looks like this side of the building is more for truckers, and "longer term" residents. The parking lot was poorly lit, and the pavement had disintegrated.

The Room:
While serviceable, the appliances were clearly old and had suffered a lot of abuse. The A/C unit and TV were both disconnected when I arrived, and the Comcast branded Digital convertor wouldn't pull in half the channels that were listed.

The bathroom looked like it had been disinfected, but hadn't seen a scrub brush in a while.

This was well within budget and the management has been so helpful. The rooms are clean. The outside access worried me a bit, but there were cameras all over the building, so i feel fairly safe. The staff though is really friendly and go out of their way to help. They even called my room to make sure I was settled in and liked everything. Super nice.

Stayed here on an 'over-nighter' between destinations, rather than staying in a major city and paying the premium for doing so. Consequently, this hotel provided everything we needed at a good price.

The only negative was the Wi-Fi. It wasn't. After sitting in reception and still getting nowhere, the owner rebooted his router and it came to life, but still only just.
