“Nice walk, food, location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

We took our grand kids and their mother to eat and walk along the lake area. Also, to let the 8 and 4 year olds fish some. Great food and lots that the kids liked. The lake area is very clean, comfortable to walk and the scenic value is beyond anything you could ask for in a State Park area. We will do this again!

“And I don't usually like buffets..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2014

We were staying for a week at Fairfield Glades and kept running into people who said "Be sure to go to the buffet at the state park." Not to be a snob but I just don't care for buffets much. We were out and about one day at lunch time so decided what the heck - lets go. Well first of all it is a lovely building overlooking the lake, the dogwoods were blooming, the ducks were on the pond and people were out for a stroll on a beautiful day. As it turned out it was a nice buffet. The salad bar was basic but well stocked, the vegetable beef soup was so good I never got past it except for dessert and it was $5.95. The rest of the group made it past the soup to the all you can eat fried catfish and were without complaints.. In addition to the catfish, I saw roast beef, ham, chicken and pulled pork with a good variety of sides and hush puppies. Cobbler for dessert is always a treat and there was banana pudding too. The full buffet was I think $8.95. Ok, Ok so I won't complain if anyone wants to go there again.

“fun place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014

We enjoyed the view of the lake and scenery. Ducks were on the lake and it looked so peaceful as we ate. The food choices were amazing and the price was right. I had several things like greens, catfish and banana pudding that I had never eaten before. It was fun to try new things that are traditional in the south. The price was right, too!

“Pool, picnic, paddleboats and more! So much to choose from...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

You can spend the day at the pool, camp at night, go paddleboarding the next day, or take a walk on the hiking trails through the woods.
The pool gets really crowded in the summer. Be sure and bring some kind of shade to get out of the sun. There is a pool for small children, and a diving board at the large pool. There is a small fee to use the pool.
Considering the size of the park, it has much to offer. A kids play area, a field is located 'up the hill' where you can play a game of baseball. There's fishing, boating, a restaurant, overnight cabins, picnic areas, pavilion, and, in the fall, a free movie night.
