We stayed here over night on a Friday night, August 24, 2012 - just needed a room for a quick one-night stay to check out the area. We asked for a king bed smoking room - I believe our biggest mistake. The room smelt soooo bad, had we not been so tired, we would have said something or just asked for our money back. The windows didn't open in the room, so there was no way to air it out except to leave the door open, in which case letting bugs in the room. The carpet was sticky and walls by the bathroom were filthy, especially the light switch. Our lamps on the wall were a 50s blue color and the entire room aside from the comforter was dated to about 50s. I will say though that it is a possible we were given the worst room in the entire hotel, cause the pictures on here look absolutely NOTHING like the place we stayed at but I do recognize the outside of the hotel and the pool. The poor was nice and has a good safety lock on the gate, which can only be reached by someone who is at least three feet tall, which is good for people with small children. There is a huddle house or waffle house right next door - which would be a review in itself and not a great one. By looking at the pictures and reading the other reviews, I think we just got a bad room. It was on the first floor on the opposite side of the building from the poor - I think the key is to stay away from the smoking rooms and if you insist upon a room that allows smoking, ask to see the room you will be given first and you may have some decent luck here, based on other reviews.
