Tiramisu cake here is my all time favorite cake! It's amazing. They also have excellent cheescake and death by Chocolate cake. If there was no cake I'd give the restaurant four stars though. Good place to get lunch. If they have ham and cheese croissants left definitely get one. Or two. Sandwiches and pizza are also good but not amazing. The cake's amazing though. Did I mention that?

I went into the deli to get a quick sandwich and was pleasantly surprised at all of the fresh bread and meats and desserts there. I actually ended up buying Christmas bread as host gifts for parties as well as a very yummy sandwich. I will be returning soon.

Bought some of the cheese breadsticks to take home. Had strudel and iced chai tea latte. Excellent. Friendly German staff. Eat in or take out. Cute and clean interior. They have opened a deli next door with all of their breads and meats. Can not wait to go back. Highly recommend.

I love fresh baked bread so when my own bread maker went on the Fritz I had to find a place with fresh baked bread this is the place to go. All of the bread is amazing and their bread sticks are a family favorite. I always go get bread around lunch so I can eat as well. The service isn't always the best but the bread makes up for the lacking personality of the staff.

Silke's is a great lunch spot if you want to avoid the burger and fries routine. They probably have one of the most varied menus in town, including several vegan and vegetarian dishes. Their salads are fresh, tasty, and a reasonable size, their pizza is good, and their sandwiches will appeal to individuals who enjoy European style sandwiches. They have several soups every day (even when the temperature is over 100 degrees) and they are popular with the customers. Lunch will run about $10 per person. Silke's is close to the university and quite popular with the university faculty. If they are busy, it can take a while to get your food because they prepare things as they are ordered. They have a variety of European artisan style breads and sweet rolls every day and the most popular can sell out quickly, so if you see it in the case, better get it! They have coffee drinks, but I have not tried those.

Silke is also an artist and has been graciously displayed work by local artists in the bakery since she opened. Most of the pieces are for sale. There is also a children's play area.
