“Wonderful place to stay!”
Reviewed October 11, 2007

This is a wonderful place to stay. It has quite a bit of ambience, is in the best location, and is walking distance from a number of venues. There is alot to do if you want to be busy, but it is just as easy to sit back and relax on the front porch. We stayed at the Thompson House and would definitly return. Our room was well kept, and beautiful. The restaurants are good as well. Rembrant's coffee house is excellent! Great for lunch or just a snack. Back Inn Cafe had one of the best breakfasts I've had. Sit outside and dine al fresco! Went to Tony's for dinner one night. The atmosphere was great. Service was also very good, but the food was just OK. They were very busy the night we were there however, so I would give them the benefit of the doubt and go again. Bluffs View Inn and the surrounding area is a great place to stay for a nice weekend away!

Just returned from three nights at the Bluff Inn B&B. The place has a lot going for it including location location location. The Inn is in the Art District which is in a great spot on the bluff of the river. The rooms have great views and the breakfast is outstanding. Tony's restaurant is just steps away with great atmosphere and food. Rembrandts coffee house is also just steps away with great coffee and a light menu. I recommend this place highly especially for couples. This is not just a place to stay it is a destination.

The resturant is overprices and not very good, but the ambiance is quite nice. Rooms above the restaurant are very loud, very early in the morning when breakfast is being prepared and very late at night when they are finishing up dinner. It's a good location, walking distance to the Hunter Museum of American Art and the Tennesseee Aquarium. But there are steep hills up to the bluff (go figure). It's an ok place, but it's pretty pricey to be loud and have mediocre food. The Stone Fort Inn might be a better alternative.

I was surprised over the great location and the inn's amenities. I highly recommend this inn for anyone. My wife an I had a wonderful time.

Breakfast was good and you can walk to museums, coffee shops, riverbridge and shopping. A great weekend stay.

This is a perfect location to stay in Chattanooga. It's within walking distance of all attractions -- Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum, IMAX, Hunter American Art Museum, Coolidge Park, and LOTS of great restaurants! This was our first stay in the Bluff District area (May 29-30, 2005). There were 3 of us and we had two rooms -- one with a queen bed, a walk through bathroom to another room with a single bed for our 12 year old. The Innkeepers, Julie and Georgia, were wonderful and accomodating. We enjoyed the information about the great changes in the city. The room rate included a full breakfast for all three. If you've never been to Chattanooga, this is a great place to stay and really get a wonderful taste of the city. The rooms are bit pricey, but if you're staying for a night or two, it's not so bad!

We stayed for 2 nights at Bluff View in the Thompson House, full cooked to order breakfast the best on our 10 day U S trip.
The house was great sitting on the porch in the evening drinking red wine from Toni's next door watching the world go by and waiting for my lady to get ready for our night on the town.
The artist district is very friendly and safe, loads of parking 10 minutes walk to downtown also very friendly, you must have a drink in the old station hotel fantastic building.

WOW! My mother and I just spent a "getaway weekend" at the gorgeous Bluff View Inn, and it was one of the most relaxing and pleasant vacations we ever had. For starters, the District where the Inn is located is gorgeous. There are sculptures and pieces of art hidden around every corner. The restaraunts and cafe are so good, we ate nonstop and still couldn't get enough! Or room was absolutely beautiful. There was a nice large bed and a little balcony overlooking the river where we just sat for hours enjoying the scenery and nice conversation. The furniture was authentic and tasteful, so we felt like we had stepped into the past and were truly enojoying the good life. The service was impeccable - anything that we needed they provided promptly and everyone was so friendly. The breakfast was outstanding and the room where we ate was so cute and tidy. It just so happened that the weekend we stayed was the Grand Opening of the Hunter Museum, which apparently had undergone renovation and expansion, so mom and I walked over to enjoy the wonderful exhibits. Then we strolled down this great pedestrain bridge beside the river that led to the aquarium and tons of little restaraunts and shops downtown. We spent the whole day walking, browsing, and taking it all in. I'm telling you - you have got to try this Inn! It is the perfect combination of scenery, amenities, and great location. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
