This may be the best restaurant in Chattanooga. The food is pricey but worth every nickel--everything about our meal was top drawer. The steak melted in your mouth and my shrimp and grits would have made a low-country cook blush. The atmosphere is modern and sleek and we liked the booth-only seating (although ours had an ugly patch that management should probably reupholster).
This would have been a memorable meal but for the service. Our young server was certainly friendly but well short of what you would expect in an eatery with these standards and prices. She had a challenge with announcing the specials, neglected to provide bread, allowed plates to sit unattended after the meal for 10-15 minutes, and cheerfully asked how we enjoyed our food six seconds after some other server delivered it. Mortal sins? Hardly. But this kind of experience does drop the rating down a notch. Oh, they totally ignored the birthday celebration that was revealed in our reservation.
Should you give Hennen's a try for that special night out in Chattanooga? Definitely. Just hope that you are waited on by one of the several more experienced staff we saw flitting about.
