Owner description: Imagine a zoo that's specially designed to bring the animals up close to you. Imagine a zoo where you have time to notice the subtleties of animal behavior, instead of being pushed along by an impatient crowd. Imagine an exciting and diverse zoo that's still easy to navigate with strollers...or little legs. That's the new Chattanooga Zoo!

The zoo is small compared to others I have been to but it was really nice and kids loved the carousel ride and they also enjoyed riding the camel. I thought the camel ride should have been a bit longer for the price.

My husband and I visited the zoo on our way out of Chattanooga, and we were very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it! Our favorite part was seeing the Jaguars since their habitat is created so they can walk right up close to the glass, which gives you a great view. Each of the habitats were built well, and close enough so that you could get a good look at whatever animal was in it. It's not very big - it took us about 2 hours to complete, but we also took our time at most of the enclosures. It's a great affordable way to spend some time while in Chattanooga!

Our first trip to the zoo, and we'll certainly come back! We went the "encounters" way and it's very affordable. For only around $20 a person, you get up close with the animals. Marty was a wonderful guide and provided a lot of education to us on the zoo and the residents.

The Chattanooga Zoo is a very nice and maintained zoo. The grounds are very well taken care of and all the animals seem to be well groomed. It is a very small zoo, but is very nice and for the price can't be beat.

We spent a day at the Tennessee Aquarium and it was fun - but not that much fun. After spending too much money on a hotel near the aquarium and the not so thrilling IMAX, we had almost called it a mediocre vacation and were prepared to drive home. I found the zoo less than three miles from the aquarium and spent half a day there before driving home. It is a small zoo but educational and a lot of fun. I enjoyed the zoo more than the aquarium.
