“Amazing ambiance outside, great service and food”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

Great tasting food - large serving of two different breads included olive oil with Parmesan cheese and garlic before the meal. Dinner portions are large enough for some take-home. Great red sauce on my sausage & mushroom pasta. Desserts are good portions, can be sharable for those on a diet.

I sat at the upper balcony with a bit of a view of the Tennessee River. There is also street-level seating available. The side road has very sparse traffic, so road noise is not an issue. Landscaping at neighboring businesses and buildings also makes for a great urban-green environment.

The art museum and pedestrian bridge over the Tennessee River are also very close, easy walking distance, and is a nice activity for before or after dinner.

Great efficient service, very reasonable pricing for what you get, excellent fresh tastes, the location, and a great ambiance for the outdoor seating puts this restaurant on my "will come back" list.

“Walking distance from a breathtaking hill top art garden”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We ate at Tony's for lunch. The service was such a disappointment it has affected my rating of this restaurant. It is very pretty inside. There are two outside eatting areas, one facing the river on the second floor and a courtyard at the entrance.

Our waiter was MIA. Other waiters stepped in, but only after we had been waiting 10 minutes for water. The waiter did not know the wine list. When we wanted to get a second glass of wine, the waiter again was no where to be found.

As for the food, it was very good. Our guests were happy, and we all enjoyed a walk around the gardens across the street. Our waiter saw us afterwards and asked what statue was our favorite. Icarus, of course (apparently that is everyone's favorite). There is an artisan bread bakery close by, open to the public in the afternoon. The bread was also served at the restaurant and was delicious. Take some home.

“Tony's is always on our to-do list”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We always go to Tony's when we visit Chattanooga. We are never disappointed. We always ask our server for recommendations when we are feeling adventurous. I was considering one dish and our server told us it was the one item that was not made in house. He asked what I liked and suggested a variation of one of their dishes. Fusilli pasta, grilled chicken, wild mushrooms, with tomato spinach cream sauce. It was wonderful. My husband ordered the lasagna. Their homemade bread with roasted garlic is always fresh and incredible. We had enough leftovers for dinner that night. My husband's family is Italian, we are particular when it comes to Italian restaurants. If you want authentic Italian food you cannot go wrong. I was happy to see a lot of gluten free options here too.

“Above Average”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We chose here as we were staying in the area and the only other restaurant was closed. We got a roof terrace table and Emily looked after us really well. She was most unassuming yet attentive. Sadly there was a very loud guy on the table next to ours regaling tale after tale to his mute felliw diners. He reminded us if the 40 year old virgin! Tony's is fine - try it.

“Great Service but Food was Just Average This Time”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We normally eat at Tony's when visiting Chattanooga. This time was no different. However, the food was not as good as it normally is. We both ordered the "make your own pasta" dishes and the sauces lacked flavor and were somewhat watery. Again, we have eaten here over a dozen times and always enjoyed it. I guess there is a first time for everything.
