This is a cool place. The scallops were good on the day I was there. They have entertainment here at night. They send a lady over to the table to sing for you....yawnfest really. The girl had a good voice, but too loud near our table....she must have been singing for the whole place at our table. :)

Romano's is very good but I wouldn't call it unique for Italian fare. It is a franchise type of restaurant as far as I know and can be found in lots of places. I do dine there off and on and am pleased with the service and the quality of the food. Recommended for a nice, better than average Italian restaurant with excellent service. I have never had a bad experience at Romano's Macaroni Grill.

Macaroni Grill in Chattanooga has been on my list of preferred restaurants for as long as it has been here in Chattanooga.
Alas!! No more. I have no idea what has happened to this place since my last visit but it has gone down the tubes.
First the entree arrived after quite a delay. My wife's Lobster Ravioli was ice cold. It had to be taken back to the kitchen,no doubt for a quick heat up in the microwave. My Mama's Trio tasted like warmed up leftovers, the chicken was burnt black around the edges and the other two items were not up to Romano's standard. On top of it all they neglected to serve our Caesar Salad. Our server blamed the kitchen help for this oversight.
Noticeable was the lack of customers. Perhaps the word is out already. In any case we will not be back anytime in the future.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and it has become our favorite for Italian food. The atmosphere is elegant but cozy and if you can get a seat by the fireplace on a cold day, that's a plus!
The food is always excellent. My favorite dish happens to be seasonal but I wish they had it year round. It is the Butternut Asiago Stuffed Tortelacci. This dish is beautifully presented on a long narrow plate with the pasta covered with diced roasted butternut squash, prosciutto and finished off with a heavy cream sauce and sprinkled with pumpkin seeds.
This is by far my favorite dish of all time, and so plentiful that I get to take some home for later. My husband usually has the Lasagna Bolognese which is beautifully presented and he says it's delicious. It is more than he can eat in one sitting. is leftovers go with us for later also.
The bread served before dinner is always fresh, hot and tasty.
The service is always great and the servers are knowledgeable about all of the dishes we've asked about. The place is very clean and the bathrooms are hidden from the dining area behind a beautiful rock wall. FYI - Restrooms are clean too.
We will continue to patronize Macaroni Grill on Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga, TN to satisfy our Italian cravings and if you are ever in the area then we recommend you try it too. You won't be disappointed. We never are.

I was with a party of 4 on Monday, December 31, 2012 at approximately 8 pm. We were immediately seated in the bar area when we arrived. First of all, our server (the bartender) took our drink order and said he would be back with bread. After 5 minutes he finally brought us our drinks. My wife ordered water, the growler of water had some type of white substance floating around; therefore, I told him to bring her something else. About 10 minutes later we finally received our bread and salads. It took nearly 15 more minutes before we received our food. When we received our food, the server asked if we would like some more bread and we said yes. The bread was not served until all of our meals were finished. However, my server was clearly overwhelmed and doing everything he could. This is clearly a poor managed restaurant and I feel bad for all the servers who can't provide the level of service needed to make great tips. I guarantee you that this is the worst Macaroni Grille throughout the chain. If you are looking for Italian in Chattanooga, I recommend finding a local restaurant; they take more pride in their customer service.
