“Great Blast from the past”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Nikki's is a Chattanooga tradition, it's been around as long as I can remember. From the classic hamburgers to the biggest fried shrimp in the city, it's always a great experience.

“Throwback to 1955”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Unchanged, same location and building for sixty years. Greasy, yes, but incredibly good shrimp and onion rings. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes at lunch and dinner.

This is a small diner with wonderful onion rings, burgers, fries and toasted pimento cheese sandwiches!

“Great Chattanooga dive.”
Reviewed June 28, 2012

Fried Shrimp and Onion Rings with a glass bottles Coke. It's a little diner that has been there for ever but it's always a good place to go eat lunch or dinner. CASH ONLY, so think ahead.

“Always a favorite---possibly the best fried shrimp on earth!”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Nikki's has been an institution in Chattanooga for years; they were anointed with the "cool vibe" when Southern Living magazine wrote them up over a decade ago, but it's still the place to go when you crave big, beautiful fried shrimp.

The location is perched near the top of the ridge on Cherokee Blvd. You get one of the best views of the city from the parking lot. They have picnic tables (under cover) for outside dining and the interior is standard diner decor (with local flavor). Yes, this is a "dive", "greasy spoon" whatever, but it works.

The shrimp are butterflied, huge and with the lightest most wonderful batter, they are just to die for! The dinners come with 6 or 12 pieces of shrimp, 2 incredible hush puppies, fries and salad (chopped iceberg lettuce with your choice of dressing). If you want an additional treat with your fried delight, try their out of this world onion rings.

I truly do not adore much in the way of fried foods, but I will always make an exception at Nikki's! I'm not kidding, once you get started on the shrimp and onion rings, you're hooked, and there's no cure; but it sure tastes good! Yes, Nikki's has other items on their menu, but if I'm going, I'm only getting the shrimp (and hush puppies and of course the onion rings)!

No reservations, eat at the counter, booths (for 2 or more), outside or to-to, but bring cash because Nikki's doesn't take credit or checks.
