Upon entering on Mother's Day around 1pm, we were promptly greeted and given the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We chose indoor to accomidate our party of six.Though there was tables available we were put in a booth... rather tight for 6 adults. We inquired about all the empy tables and told that they were not available. Our server asked for our selection of drinks and had a thorough knowledge of beer that was available, and was able to reccomend some to some of our group. I chose one of the drink specials called the "Ice Pick". I received a raspberry ice tea. After trying to flag down our server, he promptly removed the tea and came back about 5 minutes later with the correct drink. (It looked totally different) The drink was around $9.00 and had a overall good flavor silghtly on the tart side. We finallty were able to order ferom a vast menu. Some chose a vegetarian salad with humus and goat cheese, a chicken and gorgonzola salad, and hazelnut crusted chicken with a cherry sauce, white cheddar mashed potatoes and green beans. Gumbo soup with 1/2 turkey club, fish and chips and shrimp with pasta.
Service was slow, but it was a holiday. When the salads came they were all on a bed of mainly iceburg lettuce with just a bit of romaine mixed in. What a disapointment. Gumbo soup was salty, fries were highly proccessed (just like Burger Kings) and cold when received. Hummus was fishy tasting. ( A major concern for the vegetarian at the table) One salad doid not even come until 15 minutes after everyone else had there entrees.Overall we were not impressed with the food. It was a major dissapointment and I would not go back again. The bill averaged about $25 a person with a beer or beverage, Maybe it was a bad day, but I cannot afford to find a good day for lunch at my expense.
