“Excellent lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013 via mobile

On our journey south on I 75, we took a short side trip into Chattanooga. This city is earning some great marks for what they're doing to create fun and excitement in their CBD. We took lunch at 212 Market Street. The decor is clean and up to date. Service - outstanding. My wife had the vegetarian plate which she rated excellent. I had the bison burger which was among the best ever. We give it a top recommendation. There are lots of attractive looking places to eat in this up beat downtown. If you choose 212 Market St, we're betting you'll be quite pleased.

“It had potential...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

We drove down Lookout Mountain into Chattanooga to have dinner (only about a 15 min drive) at the 212 Restaurant on Market.  It was only 7:30PM but the restaurant was nearly empty inside, giving us some concern about its food. Contemporary in design, the rooms were spacious (bringing a greater awareness of the lack of patrons). My husband and I shared a bison spring roll with a lightly spiced chili dipping sauce along with very spicy house kimchee and onions, delish! We both had Caesar salads that were sadly swimming in dressing. Our meals were not spectacular (my husband had a sautéed chick breast, I had sautéed trout.) Sadly the wine did not improve the ambiance and on the whole, I probably would not return.

“New Year's Eve Mess-up FIXED!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

Dined with husband, 20 year-old son and his girlfriend. Busy place that night. Not a great table, but we were seated and attended to quickly. All ordered something different. Son ordered Braised Short ribs but when plates arrived, he was given Shrimp and grits....Oops. Waitstaff apologized, returned it, comped an appetizer that we'd already consumed, brought him another appetizer and delicious bisque while waiting for his original order. It was brought out and delicious, as was the trout I had (I hate dried out trout) scallops that husband had were huge and perfect, beet risotto fabulous, good stuff!

“Delicious meals featuring locally-grown food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 17, 2012

We enjoyed our visit a lot. There are daily specials so there's always something new to try. Many of the foods are locally grown--even trout comes from a local fish farm. It's a little pricier than some of the other restaurants in the area, but we thought it was worth it.

“Great local restaurant”

Dinner menu featured locally grown items which were artfully prepared. You want go wrong with the shrimp and grits. Wait staff was knowledgable and friendly.
