“They're Moving!!!”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

The Camp House is moving closer to downtown Chattanooga...They will be located right off of Lindsey between Patton Pwk and MLK (near the Honest Pint). Stopped in after lunch to get myself a handcrafted coffee. This place takes coffee making to a new level....they understand the science to making the perfect cup....from temperature, to timing, to rinsing the paper filter, etc. Their foo-foo coffees are very good as well. They do have a limited menu if you're hungry and they also serve a few craft beers, including a couple of Dogfish Head selections.

“I LOVE THIS PLACE”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Simply among the best cups of coffee in Chattanooga. I am a coffee snob. I regularly am ok paying $16-$20 for a pound of coffee, for example. I have been living in Chattanooga for a while now, and I know the coffee scene pretty well. The Camphouse came into town about 4 years ago and radically changed the way coffee was seen in Chattanooga. Here's what makes the Camphouse special.

First, they use great coffee beans. They buy beans from Counter Culture, widely considered one of the top roasters in the world. I think that every other shop in town roasts their own beans... which sounds cool, except that roasting beans requires years of experience and refinement. The only local beans I'll buy are Velo's. They are getting better by the day, and I am glad they are in Chattanooga. The Camphouse uses Counter Culture.

Second, the Camphouse baristas are very well trained. These days, many of the other shops have baristas as good as the Camphouse, but the Camphouse is/was the standard that started the trend.

Third, they use the best brewing methods. They didn't skimp on the equipment. And the Camphouse was the first shop to make pour-overs or use a drip tower.

Fourth, they are passionate about coffee. I learn something new often when I go in there. Sometimes they can be a little heavy handed with their education... as I see them actually turn down bad drink orders from time to time. They won't likely make a "dry latte," because a "dry latte" is actually a bad latte. As a coffee snob, I kind of like this. I have seen other people frustrated though.

Fifth, the food pairings with the coffee are quite good. They make all of their baked goods from scratch each day. They have vegan items - which I love.

Oh, and by the way, the building is huge and killer inside. You can hang out there all day.

“Entertainment, Beer, Coffee and Food”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

The Camp House is on the north end of Williams St. off of East Main. It's located in an old factory building, someone said it used to be a hosiery mill. The outside is nondescript, easy to miss, but Williams on this side of Main is very short, so if you hit 14th just turn around. Camp House only uses Free Trade coffee. They have coffee available in carafes; however, I recommend a hand-crafted cup made to order. Ask them to explain the process as they make it, kind of reminds me of chemistry class..LOL They also do a great job with specialty drinks such as mochas and such. Every member of the staff has been personal, friendly and makes you feel rights at home.

Camp House offers food, but on Tues when we went the kitchen closed at 4PM. Food consists mostly of sandwiches, hummus, etc. They have added beer to their beverage options, they have your regular 3.2s but they also have specialty brews such as Dogfish Head.

Entertainment - we went on 6/3, they had a local young man, Ry Glover, performing, reminds me of a young Gordon Lightfoot, He's worth checking out. The other act was the Black Feathers, a young couple from England making their way around the colonies. Awesome duo, perfect harmonies, very clean guitar playing. They remind me of the Civil Wars...I will certainly be following them as they rise to success.

“Work friendly and good coffee”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

I came here to do some work while i was in Chattanooga. Great space. Loads of plugs and a music venue on most nights. I didn't order any food but it looked great coming out and the Chai Latte made me wish i had more work to do. The building doubles as a great church community on sunday.

“Sweet Spot”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

Great coffee, wonderful service and eclectic artsy venue. Lingered here recently with new friends after enchanting performances by classical musicians who lit up the stage. Great vibe and lots of eye candy at the counter. Don't miss this sweet spot!
