We stayed here for three nights. We got a great government rate. Julia checked us in at the front desk, very friendly! When I mentioned that I would be celebrating my birthday during our stay, she upgraded us to a riverview balcony room. She called our room an hour later to make sure everything was satisfactory. I couldn't have been more pleased with the room. It was spacious, quiet, and updated. There's a huge shower, no tub, but that wasn't a problem for us. We took advantage of the mini-frig and microwave. I enjoyed being able to step out onto the balcony.

The gym was clean and updated. The pool was pretty small, but we weren't there to swim. The lobby lounge and bar was beautiful. The breakfast staff kept everything clean and stocked. The tables were bussed frequently.

Throughout our stay, we were frequently asked if everything was okay, and if we needed anything. It was said with smiles and sincerity by the front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast staff.

We will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Get a higher level, river view, balcony room.

My husband I stayed here for one night while visiting Chattanooga. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here the next time we visit Chattanooga. We had a nice upgraded room which included a river view and balcony with table and chairs. The configuration of the suite with furniture arrangement, television, bed, beverage/microwave/refrigerator, and desk was comfortable and efficient, and provided plenty of space for the two of us. The staff was accommodating and very friendly and helpful, especially Drew Birchfield in the morning breakfast area. The complimentary breakfast was ample and offered good selections. The hotel is located within walking distance of the Aquarium (the reason for our visit), other downtown attractions, and downtown restaurants. The surrounding area was clean and we felt safe during our walk to the downtown area. The hotel's landscaped areas were pretty with lovely pansies and grasses. There is an outdoor fire pit and patio which can be used during warmer weather.

New hotel? Check.
Nice facility? Check.
Good location? Yes, close to downtown and on the river.
And yet...

Something about the SpringHill Suites in Chattanooga isn't quite right.

The staff is friendly in a "This is the way we were trained to be friendly" sort of way.

No restaurant, but a breakfast buffet satisfied most guests.

Nice outdoor fire pit, but no staff around other than an overworked bartender and a desk person who was pimping Chupa Chups like a drug dealer.

The lobby is devoid of character as are the rooms. Nothing about the sterile facility told us we were, well, anywhere, actually.

The bed was adequate but not great.

The room was roomy and bath nice.

After trying to enjoy the bar, we looked up another downtown hotel and called them. The Sheraton evoked old southern charm and oozed character. So, we took our bar business there.

While the suites were new and clean and nice, I've seen more inviting hotels in the former Soviet Bloc.

Room Tip: Ask for a handicap room if one is available.

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights celebrating his birthday on March 8-9, 2013.. The hotel was nice, the room clean and roomy, and the breakfast excellant. The surrounding area was barren and ugly. The river view we had was a river view...but that part of the river wasn't pretty and all we saw were the barges waiting to be loaded or moved. We did enjoy sitting on the balcony a few days for fresh air, unfortunately the last time we were outside our next door neighbor was smoking on their balcony and we were getting all their smoke...YUK. All the surrounding area was overgrown and industrial looking and not pretty in any way. The hotel is close to downtown, very convenient...and the rooms were very nice. Beware the driveway, it's very steep and cars coming out can't easily see the cars coming in. The staff were all nice, except when my husband asked for a toothbrush because he had forgotten his. The front desk lady kept trying to get him to buy one from their "store" , but it states in their booklet that they would provide one...just ask. After going back & forth for about 5 minutes...she finally went to the back office and came back with a toothbrush!! She wasn't happy about that and let it be known. The little store area is open 24 hours. You can get a small frozen pizza for $8...everything is extremely overpriced !! The breakfast buffet was excellant and the workers who helped with the buffet were ALL extremely nice and helpful. The parking fee,$8/day, was annoying...but what can you do? Overall...we probably would not stay here again and get a hotel with a different view?!

My wife and I recently enjoyed a 2-night stay while celebrating our 35th anniversary. The entire staff was simply the most friendly and helpful of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Chevante was especially nice, greeting all of the guests with a big smile and a sincere desire to make their stay memorable. Quiet, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and a classy decor all contributed to a great vacation. A convenient location with easy access to the hotel from the main highways is a bonus.

Room Tip: Riverview, upper level rooms are just incredible. Great view and quiet.

My wife and I stayed here for a night cause we were visiting the VW factory the next day. The hotel is located along the river in a location right next to downtown. When checking in the two ladies working the deck upgraded my room to a river view and a full balcony. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was large and very well thought out. Although this property is not right in downtown we did enjoy the short walk along the river to get there. I did have the complimentary breakfast the following day and it was good. Plenty of choices of food and relaxing as well. I would defiantly stay if I was to visit the area again.

Stayed here Mar 1-3, 2013. It was very clean and very friendly. The room (king size bed) was super nice and very trendy. Big bathroom and comfy room. The breakfast was delicious and better than most hotel breakfasts. The staff was very nice. The parking fee was annoying but balanced out with the free breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.
