“Very good Latin food”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

I decided to try the Conga Latin Food restaurant based on the reviews. The restaurant was easy to find. It was also nice that they had off the street parking set aside for only restaurant patrons. The façade wasn't that exciting and you'd miss the restaurant entirely if you weren't looking for it. It was early on a Saturday night and I had the place to myself until I was ready to leave. It is small with only a few tables and booths, which matched the size of the menu. The menu itself was only two pages, with the first one focusing on main courses.

The restaurant serves Salvadorian/Latin food at an affordable price. There were only three different types of dishes to which to choose from. However there were multiple fillings for each dish. A combo which included one main item, rice and black beans only cost a little less than $7. The food was very good and definitely worth the price and a return visit.

There were no issues with the service, but it wasn't great either. No one checked on how I was doing throughout the meal until I was finished, which was surprising given I was the only customer. However they weren't rude or had any cause for me not to return. It looked like they were more energetic with locals that they knew. If they could just bring that energy to everyone else than the restaurant would set itself apart from others.

If you are looking for something different, Conga Latin food is a good choice. There isn't much atmosphere, but the food is very good.

We are here or lunch. Pupusas were great. Original with shredded pork and beans with garlic cheese. Bean and cheese also good. We will return.

“Authentic food, great prices”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

This place can be easily overlooked from the outside. It is in area of town that is being revitalized, and home to many newer restaurants. The food selection is somewhat limited, but everything we tried was delicious and freshly prepared. Great sweet fried plantains, empanadas andposadas (hope I spelled those right!). Amazing fresly made salsa.Three meals and an appetizer for less than $25. Can't beat that!

“Great new place!”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Visited Conga recently on a lunch break (I work in downtown Chattanooga) when another local restaurant had no available seating. Happy accident! We sat outside, the weather was great. The waitress was helpful with our menu selections, as none of us had been there before. Everyone enjoyed their food. Although the portions seem small, the rice and beans will feel you up! The fresh sauces they bring are yummy and I enjoyed my Sprite in the huge bottle from Mexico.
