The amenenties may not be equal to a major chain motel, but the setting is unique, rustic and quaint. No, we are not relatives of the manager, but enjoyed their hospitality on numerous occasions, in all seasons. The overlook of Moccasin bend is gorgeous, and I question why anyone who has a fear of heights would be travelling up Lookout Mountain to begin with. Just a short ride on up the road brings you to Ruby Falls, a "must-see" unless, of course, you have claustraphobia. Rock City sits at the top, and the overlook there is indeed humbling. A little time should be spent at Point Park as well, rich in history of the Civil War, home to the "Battle above the clouds". If you're a sight-seer who loves history, you couldn't ask for a more convienient location. If you're looking for cushy comfort, bypass Sky Harbor, and leave a room open for those of us who prefer something a little different.
