I loved this boutique hotel and would definitely stay here again. The staff was wonderful and would attend to our every need. In addition, the breakfast was perfectly adequate and served in a perfect little breakfast nook restaurant. However, I would agree with the reviewer who discussed the noise problem. We stayed on the top floor and were glad we did because the floors were creaky and the walls very thin. we could hear pretty much everything around us and outside. we could sleep fine, just be aware of this if you are a light sleeper, and stay on the third floor.

My husband and I loved the place. It was such a wonderful experience. Edie was so sweet and very helpful with information about the city. The food was great and the rooms were excellent.
The best part of our stay was the accomodating staff. Anything we needed, or wanted was taken care of. We would love to go back someday. Thank you so much for the awesome experiece.

From the moment we checked in, we knew we were in for a treat! Joy and Kim man the front desk as though they’ve known you their whole lives; with friendliness and attentiveness that made us feel like the only guests in the place. In spite of the overcast weather during our stay in Chattanooga, the staff of the Stone Fort Inn made in a sunny, fun stay.

We stayed in a king room on the third floor – quiet and cozy, though I think the outdoor Jacuzzi on the too-small balcony was an odd choice for the renovators, who took four years of TLC to restore the former Colonial Inn to its current grandeur. The bed, linens and pillows are all top of the line and enveloped us in a comfort that I haven’t had in my many hotel stays in the past couple of years. The shower stall is roomy, the potty closet is a great feature when sharing the bathroom, and the claw foot tub is a lovely throwback. The only shortcoming in the bathroom was a lack of accessible counter space for toiletries. The place is immaculate – and I am hard to please! One note: the Inn’s website says that it features Aveda products, but we found that they are using something else. The products were adequate and there were plenty of them in our room, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotion.

The place is currently owned by Miss Edie and her long-time colleague Sidney who attend to it with great care and obviously choose their staff with equal thought. Clayburn in the breakfast room anticipated our every need, and even the housekeepers do a lovely, thorough job all with a smile and true southern gentility. Kim accommodated our last minute request for a room change, and gave us wonderful advice about our dinner plans.

This was our first stay in Chattanooga – an impulsive weekend trip to have a change of pace and the Stone Fort Inn was truly the highlight.

Our stay could not have been more wonderful!
From the time that I first called the inn, the friendliness just made the entire process of choosing one of the wonderful exclusive balcony rooms (they helped me choose - Joy said that her favorite was 30 and it is truly the best of them all), booking the room, adding my extras (rose and candle bath), just simply wonderful. They have a fabulous breakfast there - the shrimp and grits were my favorite - and we met 2 of the nicest couples during the wine and cheese hour on Friday night. Rooms there are truly wonderful, each has it's own European charm and that Ms. Edie - a wonderful general manager actually greeted us by name and wished us good morning while she was still preparing breakfast. The jetted tub relaxed all our cares away after some wonderful dining in the inn's very own neighborhood (just a few minute's walk).
They have this fabulous server during breakfast, his name is Clabon and he is probably the kindest soul ever.

Do yourselves a favor, folks, stay at the StoneFort Inn any and every opportunity that you get - you won't be sorry!!

The Stonefort inn is such a beautiful facility. It is clean, and very well appointed. The rooms are pretty, and the bathrooms are very functional. The staff is wonderful. They go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need and then some. The problem that we had with this place was that our room was close to the street and very noisey. We simply did not sleep well because of the traffic. The windows and walls are paper thin. You can hear the people above, and beside you, as well as people on the street. I would recommend that you ask for a room on the back of the inn on the top floor. The parking is also a problem. They simply do not have a good parking situation. We had difficulty finding a park and we were there on a week night. Overall, it is a beautiful inn and we would give it another try.
