Very nice walk ( approx. 1/2 mile) with wonderful views of the Tennessee River. Several yachts to look at from a distance, beautiful mountain views. A nice FREE option if your looking for things to do.

Tourists should be forewarned that both ends of the Walnut Street Bridge are high crime areas. The park on the northern side of the bridge is plagued by gang activity. Walking across the bridge itself is pleasant enough but the bicycles zoom by and the bridge should be for walking. The areas on both ends of the bridge cater to the tourist crowd and prices are very inflated. I would not suggest this as an attraction for families with small children due to the hazards of the bicycles. I would not suggest anyone go on the bridge in the evening due to the crime in the area.

This is a great pedestrian bridge! There were people walking, running, and riding bikes. One end of the bridge is in the newer part of town and the other end of the bridge is in the older part of town that has been updated. It's a neat way to experience different parts of the city. If you're visiting the city and looking for something to do on a nice day, I would highly recommend walking the bridge.

The city leaders really did good when they decided to make this a walking bridge instead of tearing down.

The was the city has treated the Walnut Street Bridge is an example of how an eyesore has turned into part of a tourist mecca.

As a lifelong resident of the area I can say that Chattanooga has gone from a smoggy, dirty, unsafe town to a nice place where people love to live and walk downtown.

I don't know how many cond0 units have been built in the last 10 years, but it is a large number

A friend of mine just moved downtown. I ashed him what his condo/apartment cost per month. He said it is a little over $1,000..

Really enjoyed spending time explore the area around the walnut street bridge. Several parks close by, lots of restaraunts, the aquarium is within walking distance. Very enjoyable little Sunday activity.
