My husband had begged me forever to go to Barking Legs Theater. It's a small venue with maybe 80-100 seats, there is room for addtional seating and standing to the sides. Your best bet is to catch a music event. We were able to see Ketch and Critter (from Old Crow Medicine Show) this Spring and it was amazing- easily the best show we've seen in a long time. You are literally feet from the stage and there's not a bad seat in the house (even though the seats are old and small- let's call it historic?) We bought tickets for about $20 (much less than we paid when OCMS came to the TIvoli) and a much more real experience. There's more interaction with the audience and just more of a living room get together feel to the place.
They did sell snacks and beverages inculding beer at this event. Parking is across the street.
I don't think a lot of people know about it or the quality of shows that it brings to town, but if you want a great concert experience for a great price I would highly recommend Barking Legs!
