This is a great park to take the family for a picnic. There are usually a lot of people, but it doesn't seem to be over crowded. It is near the walking bridge so you can go from one side of the river to another. The carousel is old and rides nicely. You can also walk down the river walk path for a ways on either side of the park.

We saw a lot of families having a great time. It's just a nice park. Had food trucks with funnel cakes and ice cream and shaved ice. Lots of food choices within walking distance.

Coolidge Park is easily accessible in the North Shore area of Chattanooga. There is ample "pay per hour" parking with reasonable rates, or you may just cross the pedestrian bridge from downtown Chattanooga (near the aquarium).

The park boasts a huge, lush lawn for running around and playing games or just taking in some sunshine. There is a great water play area with various fountains to run through and animal statues that may squirt you as you play around. Also, in the covered pavilion, is a gorgeous carousel that you may ride for a very small fee.

A fantastic place to enjoy the outdoor scene of the Chattanooga area for some free entertainment and fun. There are also multiple, eclectic shops, cafes and treat stops located just behind the park.

Highly recommended!!!

Coolidge Park is an oasis on the North end. If you come to Chattanooga in the spring, summer, or fall you have got to visit this park. Chattanooga is filled with beautiful parks and if nature and outdoors is your thing you will love this place! If you have children they will love the fountian. The kids love to take their shoes off and run through the blasts of water. They will also like the huge carousel right next to the fountain. If you prefer a dryer experience bring a blanket and have a picnic on the lush lawn or run along the perimeter to get in a good work out. The park hosts shaved ice vendors and is directly behind Subway sandwiches. Restaurants run along the outside of the park and if you forget something there is a Walgreens nearby. I love this park and on sundays you might can catch a band of artsy individuals who sing, dance, and beat their drums or recite poetry! Check this place out to see it for yourself. The only downside is that parking is not plentyful and you may have to pay to park anywhere downtown.

We took the grand children to the carrousel. They had a great time. It is a good value and worth taking a ride on for both young and old.
