We both enjoyed the breakfast bar and the bright and beautiful openess of the Gardens Restaurant. It was snowing on the original Chattanooga Choo-Choo and gardens on this cold February day and we watched it in comfort through the glass wall as we ate. Service was great so was the quality and abundance of food on the breakfast bar. We will return. The only reason I am not fiving the restaurant a perfect score is it was closed on Friday when we wanted to eat lunch there. We had to leave the premises that day to dine at the Terminal Restaurant but it was only a few yards away on the same side of the street.

When we stay at the Choo Choo hotel, we eat most of our breakfasts at the Gardens. There's simply not much to tell here, the food is decent, the prices are not too bad, the service is reasonably good. They do have a pretty extensive breakfast bar that they keep well stocked. Basically, it's a fine place to eat that is convenient if you're already at the hotel anyway.

I had the chicken piccata which wasnt very good. Fake mashed potatoes. My fault , I should have asked. My husband had a salad which came out of a bag. The desserts looked good but we didnt try any.

The food (buffet) was mediocre at best and my eggs were cold (even though the pan was warm). French toast sticks were about as hard as sticks. I guess that's why there were not many people.

We stayed at the Choo Choo and had a dining voucher that were included with our room. Breakfast is served as a buffet. There was a great selection of food: eggs, bacon, sausage gravy, biscuits, french toast sticks, grits, fresh fruit, pastry, cereal. Our waitress was terrific providing hot tea and clearing plates. Not the best meal we've ever had but not the worst either as the food was only warm and not hot, nothing was replenished while we were there, and there was a definite lacking of flavor to everything. Had it not been for the dining voucher we would have passed as it was terribly overpriced for what you received. The dining voucher did not cover the tax or tip to the wait staff so plan to spent another $5-$10. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice since it is part of the original train station. The server's station is a beautiful white gazebo covered in ivy. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas.
