The Crash Pad: An Uncommon Hostel

The only trouble I have writing this review is where to start on an endless flow of compliments that the Crash Pad richly deserves. The location is fantastic with an array of local businesses very close by be it restaurants, bars, the Choo Choo etc...The private rooms are cozy, well configured, classy furnishings, have a very comfy bed and incredible value for money. The bunks look of similiar high quality and I will be back for the Chattanooga marathon and staying in one...The staff are beyond friendly, kind, informative, great to chat to - a huge, no - massive asset., over and above to the "hostel" itself. My girlfriend and I could not stop talking about how much we loved our stay. Thank you thank you Crash Pad!.....Oh, and the coffee is great - a blend made specifically for the Crash Pad by a local roaster, there's bagels and toast for breakfast, the free internet is on amazing monitors and Macs, you can do laundry for a dollar after a hard day's running / climbing/hiking! - OK I'll stop but I could easily continue with more compliments.... The secret is now officially out - Crash Pad rules!

The location is perfect- walkable to many local things to do, easy to find, and handy from the interstate.

The condition is immaculate- yes, it's brand new, but the owners keep it in pristine condition and take pride in all the details (even down to how a towel is folded- really?)

The amenities are great- the showers/bathrooms are clean/spacious, the common area is setup with the latest technology, and the kitchen really feels like you're living in a kindof homey manse.

This place is wonderful. Not only is it the epitome of the perfect hostel, but the staff and guests alike really make it feel like home- something often (sorely) missing when traveling 80% for work. I look forward to coming back next week.

My husband, 2 late- teenage children and I decided to visit beautiful Chattanooga after dropping our oldest daughter off at college in Nashville. Chattanooga has so many fun, outdoor activities (biking, hiking, rafting and rock climbing) and now it has a clean, "green", fun, affordable place to stay! We arrived after a long day of moving our daughter into her dorm room and were given a warm welcome and were set up in our accommodations(my husband and I had a private room and our teens were set up in the bunks.) Our private room had a beautiful sink which had been made by a local artist using recycled glass! The kids had their own safes/lockers built into their bunks to lock up their belongings. The bunks were really cool. They were made from reclaimed wood from the building which had previously occupied the site. They were beautiful and my kids said that they were comfortable too.
The common area of the hostel had a great set up. There was a lounge area complete with computers which all guests could use. We were able to print out our boarding passes for our flight home. There were also lots of books and brochures about all that you could do on your visit to Chattanooga. Attached to the lounge area is a full kitchen which guests can use to cook.(we did not, but had a yummy dinner at a local restaurant) They also had beer and water for sale. Coffee and a continental breakfast was available to help yourself to. After our morning coffee we walked to a great breakfast restaurant about a block away that the staff recommended. There is also a gas grill out in the pavilion which anyone can use!
I think that The Crash Pad is a great idea. It's an affordable, fun, clean place to stay. Perfect for outdoor adventure seekers!
