“Great New Hotel”
Reviewed September 4, 2011

When doing a road trip, we try to seek out Hampton Inns because they offer free breakfast and internet which is great for families with teens. We chose this hotel because it gave us easy access to the highway and our sole purpose for staying in Chattanooga was to go see the remarkable Children's Holocaust Memorial in Whitwell,TN .
As the other reviews mentioned, the hotel is brand new and the pool area is very welcoming. We found the front desk staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. They printed out directions for me to get to Whitwell.

The hotel is very well situated - across the street from the Children's Discovery Museum and within easy walking distance of the Tennessee Aquarium and a variety of restaurants. It is new and clean. It is decorated in a very modern vibe which may grow tired looking pretty quickly. There is a nice complimentary breakfast including eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. The pool area is exceptional with a waterfall and a very restful fountain/seating area. Parking was adequate. Hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating. Bedding was very comfortable and fresh every day. There was a microwave and a mini fridge. My only complaint was that housekeeping was rather noisy in the morning with a lot of door banging. Also, there was not a "Do Not Disturb Sign" for my room. All in all, however, an excellent property.

Just opened this Spring, the bright colors, hip design and great location made this a super place to stay. Eye-popping colors and a warm, welcoming staff greet guests. The adjacent dining area where the ample and delicious included breakfasts are served includes a variety of comfortable and attractive seating arrangements including a long central bar where single guests could join others. The pool was incredible. It has an inside portion, but the outdoors part was spectacular! Gentle waterfall and fountain features were lovely to look at and to listen to. An outdoor fireplace will be great on cool evenings (not in August!). A variety a comfortable seating options, including round sofas for cuddling made this a perfect place to hang out & relax. Nice work out room included towels and earphones.
Aa for the rooms, just right! Well designed & roomy, good lighting and ample space for clothing in closets & dresser drawers. Closet is cleverly hidden behind a full length mirror door. The bathroom is large and well designed with an oversized walk in shower, spacious granite sink with large under sink shelf to provide good storage. The toilet is tucked descreetly behind a half wall and includes a toilet seat cover that gently closes with a light touch! The bed was super comfy and well placed with the head of the bed placed on the bathroom wall rather than an adjacent room wall. A stylish Roman shade closes easily over translucent shades to provide room darkening privacy.
The location was ideal. We walked everywhere or could take the free shuttles when we needed to go a bit further (eg across the river or to see the Chattanooga ChooChoo at the other end of town). We can't recommend this place more highly. And it is even a Green Hotel, with environmentally responsible efforts!
This was unlike any

All the front desk people were awesome, especially Tedra. When they found out it was our anniversary they upgraded us to a suite with a balacony (you may not want a balcony if you are a light sleeper). The hotel was one of the cleanest I've ever stayin in. The common facilities were outstanding (indoor/outdoor pool, gym). The room was not huge, but was spectacular. The bed was maybe the best hotel bed ever. Location was super. Hotel is about 4-5 blocks from river and 1 block from Broad St. Just around the corner, I highly recommend Lupio's for pizza. Couple of doors from there is Sticky Fingers for BBQ. Just couldn't ask for a better experience. We could have paid $100 more at another hotel and not been any more pleased.

Stayed there with my boss and colleagues. Although this was a business trip, I have stayed at Hampton Inns before and really enjoyed this one in particular. The new look was beautiful. The Location is great. The room was great, the pool was great. The biggest problem it seems is they tried to cram in way to much for the amount of guests it allows. We were there apparently during a time when a lot of ball teams were in town. Parents were not supervising the kids and kids were a little crazy. Breakfast was one the most interesting experiences I have ever had. It was crazy, so many people all at the same time trying to get food. It was crowded, and chaotic. But amid all this were two incredible employees who deserve to be recognized. One was Katie, She made sure to check with everyone to see if they needed anything and if everything was ok. She was running around like crazy trying to take care of everyone. With as many people as was down there, we were all going through the food faster than she could get it out. She was so polite, and warm hearted, I don't know how one person is to be expected to keep up with that kind of a crowd, but God Bless her she was amazing. At one point 6 different people were asking her for 6 different things. She smiled at everyone and politely got what they needed. She was definitely one of the hardest workers I have ever seen. Most Hamptons you don't even see the breakfast person. The other one was Kelly. She was so kind and personable. We came to her to let her know the coffee was out, this was late in the afternoon, she apologized and promised to get fresh coffee out there immediately. And she did. Overall, I really loved this place, especially Katie and Kelly. My only critique is that there really should be more breakfast employees. Will definitely stay there again, provided I see Katie and Kelly there again.

Room Tip: Call first to see if they have a bunch of teams checked in.

Overall, this is a fantastic hotel for its location. We walked everywhere from the aquarium to the Bluff View Art District to the 2 North Shore shopping center. (We had a nice dinner at Tony's in the Art District and did some shopping at Rock/Creek, the Trek Bicycle Store of Chattanooga, and the Chattanooga Shoe Company.)

The room was very nice. We had a king room that was well-organized to maximize the space in a somewhat smaller room. The curtains looked great, but weren't totally light-blocking. I really like the move Hilton properties seem to be making from bathtubs to showers.

I don't usually pay much attention to the pool area, but I was really impressed with the use of space at this pool. There were both indoor and outdoor sections with modern seating and a fireplace plus an additional fire pit. It was way too hot for any sort of fire, but I could imagine it being a very nice place to relax on a cooler evening.

One of the best things about the Hampton Inn brand is the free breakfast. Our experience was similar to one of the other reviewers: the breakfast area was cramped and constantly running out of food. Part of the problem was that the area where the food is set out is set off in a small room so that it can be locked up. The was the counter tops were designed, it caused a backup when people wandered in to browse at the selection. We purposefully tried to get to breakfast a little early to beat the rush, but it sounds like it's a rush all weekend long.

Parking was a little confusing at first. All of the parking spots before the gated lot and by the entrance were full when we pulled in and no valet was present to tell us where to go. Finally, someone came out and directed us.

Overall, the customer service was fine. They weren't the most friendly Hampton Inn staff we've encountered, but they weren't rude to us either.

But I'm not sure worth the money.

The location couldn't be any better. It's close to everything, right in the heart of downtown.

When we got there, the valet was no where to be found and we weren't sure where to go since it's a closed parking lot. Eventually got that straightened out. Checked in, the two guys at the front desk weren't super friendly and didn't seem very interested in dealing with me. Got to our room, it felt like a sauna in there! The AC wasn't working. They sent someone up to see what the problem was, but he couldn't get it working either. He left to get us another room and got upgraded to a suite. So an hour after we got there we were finally able to settle into our room. I wish I could remember his name but the guy who helped us with the room was very courteous and helpful and friendly.

The room was very nice. The suite was great because it was a good bit larger than a regular room so the three of us had plenty of room. Beds were very comfortable and the TV was great (large flatscreen with HD). They did put the wrong AC system in the larger room, it is probably the same size they put in the regular room. After being out all day and coming back to the room, even though the air was set on 65 it was 75 in our room, it just couldn't keep the room cooled on a very hot day.

It's hard to complain about a free breakfast, and while it was good, they were constantly running out of food. And the breakfast area is way too small, both mornings we were not able to get a seat since it was so crowded and the seating was limited.

Overall I would probably recommend this hotel based on the location and the newness. It was a bit too "modern" for me but was clean and nice. Next time we'll probably try somewhere different but would consider staying here again.
