“That's Some Great Fried Chicken”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

A dive bar, with the best fried chicken. Chicken must be cooked to order cause it took some time. Well worth it, crispy, moist, tender chicken, the way it should be. Cold beer, a 40 ouncer at that, to accompany your meal. Friendly attentive staff, covered patio with TV's. We drove up from Atlanta on the recommendation of a friend, and it was well worth it,

“The Champion of Chicken and Tamales”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

Don't go to Champy's for a quick in-and-out. Plan to sit and enjoy the meal and the people-watching experience. The fried chicken is served right out of the fryer, so it's HOT. It's always cooked to perfection, moist all the way through - this is perfect southern style cooking. The tamales are excellent as well, among the best I've ever had. Served with coleslaw and saltines, they're great as an appetizer or a meal. Because the place has such a diverse patronage you can take your time and enjoy the people around you, or you can watch a game or match on one of the screens around you. Inside dining is fine, but the porch is the best.

“If you're looking for fried chicken, this place can't be beat!”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Great fried chicken and sides are good too. Fair pricing for portions. We love the outdoor seating, especially during warmer months. Waitresses are friendly and service is always good. Don't forget to order a 40oz to wash down the chicken!!! This place ranks high on my list for consistency in quality and service.

“Best Fried Chicken”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Ordered the two piece dark meat, my husband the three wing dinner. The three wings were each huge! Absolutely the best chicken we've ever had. The baked beans we give the same rave review. Everything was really great, including the service. We sat outside on the enclosed porch/terrace area and loved the atmosphere.

“My family loves it!”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

It's located down town and in a weird area but it's still neat. The chicken is great. You need to get the peppers, cheese and pickles appitizers!!! YUM!!!!! Don't forget your dollar bill to sign and hang on the wall. We like eating outside on pretty days! Waitress are very nice.
