This restaurant is open 24 hrs. Has a very large menu. Breakfast is served anytime. Desserts run aplenty. Huge cakes that is if you are not too full from your meal, but could always get it to go. Parking is in with the motel. This place is open on holidays.

WOW. It was almost surreal. Like no other restaurant I have ever been in. It had Italian, Mexican, Seafood, Breakfast, Mediterranian, American, home cookin'.... Pretty much any food you could want, they had. THE CAKE WAS THE BEST PART. We got a slice of $5.95 cake, carrot cake, and it was amazing. The worst part is trying to decide which cake you are going to get! Hard choice. LOVED this place.

I titled my review that way because some comments on this site refer to the other one. Actually, I think both City Cafe Diners are pretty good, but this one is my favorite. It's conveniently located off I-75's Bonny Oaks exit (the other is Downtown), so it's easy to get to if you're heading in or out of Chattanooga.

I lived in NYC for 20 years, so I know and love diners. This is not a NYC diner; it's a southern diner (not a meat 'n three), and a darn good one. The range of menu options is enormous, portions are huge, the service and food preparation are competent, the prices are reasonable, and it's relatively quiet. For lots of choices and a hearty meal, try it!

Wow! You get lots of great southern cooking at the City Cafe. The outside doesn't look like it would be much more than a fair diner- but the inside was cute. It will take you at least 10 minutes to read through the menu book! I got two HUGE fried pork chops, delicious smashed potatoes, and some typical steamed brocolli. The bread was very good. But oh the desserts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pieces are HUGE! And there is a glass display oa large variety of cakes and pies as you enter. So be sure to plan to take a dessert home. You WON'T have room in your stomach to eat it there. But don't miss out! Those desserts are worth several trips to the gym afterwards! Oh my how delicious the coconut cream pie was. (equivalent to 4 regular slices of pie) So give this place a try and you won't be dissapointed!

The service was very good, but the food was a typical greasy spoon. I wouldn't eat there again, but it was right across the street from the Sheraton Hotel, where we stayed.
