The wait was short and the rewards were plentiful. The special French toast casserole with fresh blueberries and peaches was awesome and lucky for our party, we got the last two. Service is polite and friendly and you can tell that the family that runs this place cares what the tourists and the regulars think about their place. Chattanooga is a great little city and this place is part of what makes it so.

We were holidaying in the Southern States and had the misfortune to stay at the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel with a terrible breakfast on our first morning. The next day we found the wonderful Bluegrass Grill. Obviously very popular with the locals, we were served a tremendous breakfast with a terrific choice of breads, fruit and cooked food at a very reasonable price. It had a great "buzzing" atmosphere and everyone was so friendly.

We've eaten here twice and the staff is always friendly and the food consistently good. Arrive early for breakfast or be prepared to wait in a line that goes outside the door. The establishment is small and can get noisy, but they do a good job moving the food along at a good pace.

Husband and I stopped in here for breakfast one Saturday on a weekend trip to Chattanooga. There was a small line formed already, but the staff was fast and friendly, and got every waiting seated fairly quickly. We opted for a couple of seats at the bar as we enjoy watching the kitchen staff at restaurants for fun!

My husband ordered the basic 2 eggs and meat breakfast with his eggs scrambled with cheese, smoked bacon, home fries, and a biscuit. His food was nothing extraordinary, but it was good and had great flavor. He would have preferred shredded hash browns to home fries, but there's no accounting for his poor taste there ;-) !

I tried the smoke salmon frittata, and other than agreeing with some other posters that the herbed cream cheese was just a little TOO much, everything was delicious. It wasn't that the cream cheese wasn't good, because it was, it was just a hair on the side of "too strongly flavored" and detracted just a little from the natural delicious flavor the salmon and other ingredients had.

I ordered hot tea as my beverage and would like to give extra props to Bluegrass Grill for serving it in my own personal teapot, complete with tea cozy, and a super cute mug. It's the little touches that make the difference.
