Even my train loving son was bored, lol. I tried to tell him that this wasn't that exciting but he wanted to go. It is a very slow sort of sky ride to the bottom of the mountain (or to the top) and that is it. I'd skip it (but that's just my opinion).

Haven't been in awhile, but it is not something that you would be disappointed in doing. You see the city and Chattanooga is beautiful way up high like that.

We live in florida and be in the area for vacations , we get this attraction 28 minutes before next trip carrying a prepaid ticket , the drivers told us to wait and by that time another couple came
Once they call we went to the window to validated the tickets 10' apart from the train and the left with only 2 persons aboard
The lady saw every thing and she didn't say any thing
After that she just said am sorry I cannot do any thing ,you have to wait another trip in 45 minutes
From the time they call to the time they left it was like 2 minutes
For me never ever back

We thoroughly enjoyed our ride on the incline railway! I recommend parking at the bottom ($2.00 to park all day) and riding up -- the end of the incline is so steep that it scared me a little.....you can see Chattanooga out of the glass ceiling of the car! I did not see the trashy backyards mentioned in other reviews. In fact, most of the homes looked newly renovated. The recording of the history that plays during the ride is very interesting.

At the top, there is a gift shop and snack bar that serves fudge. :-) Walk through the gift shop, take a right, and walk 3 short blocks to Point Park -- the park and views are beautiful, and the museum is full of neat period photos of soldiers on the mountain. It is $3 per person to enter the park.

The train leaves every 20-30 minutes. At the bottom, they serve funnel cakes in the summer; but not in the off-season. :-( Other than that minor disappointment, I thoroughly enjoyed the incline railway and its nearby attractions.
