“A very steep trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

An enjoyable experience that is best enjoyed from the top of Lookout Mountain. We paid for the return journey as well, as our car was at the top. The best part of the trip was meeting fellow travelers. Looking around many strangers were sharing laughs and this made the trip even more memorable.

“Fantastic Train RIde!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

What a thrill riding this train down and then back up the mountain. I think the ride back up was more exciting as we got closer to the top! For a thrill sit at the very front if your lucky enough to be first in line.

“Waste of money and time!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

This attraction was horrible! Complete waste of time and money. For two adults is was $30 for the sloooowest ride to the bottom. The passenger car is designed to not go over 10 mph...which wouldn't be a big deal if there were good views- but there really isn't! The view of the mountain is very limited. You have much better views just driving up lookout mountain in your own car!

“Exciting thought/Just ok”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

We were very excited to experience this attraction. However, we found it to be disappointing. The story behind the old incline railroad was very intriguing. However, riding it was just ok. Residents who live near the track do not seem to be expected to take care in how they treat their properties. You ride past homes that have trash in their yards, which takes away from the beauty. The lines are long, and the experience is anticlimactic.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

This is an experience you should not pass up, even when it is raining. The only place you will take a ride with such an extreme climb and have such great views, not just through the side and front windows, but even through the roof's windows. Have the camera ready, and enjoy the phenominal views from all levels of the lookout spots at the top. No need to rush once at the top, as there is a return ride every 20 minutes of so. Awesome photo op, especially as the seasons change.
Tickets do not discount for seniors except from Dec through Feb, which is when seniors are less likely to be able to tolerate the mountain weather, and their web site does not display it so that most seniors will catch it, so be prepared for the full $14 ticket. The gift shop offers astoundingly rich fudge and there are coke machines, so don't go expecting a meal for little ones.
