“Not Up to Hampton Inn Standards”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

I am a loyal Hampton Inn customer. Three of us stayed here one night after a long day of driving. The hotel is well worn, with dirty hall carpets. Our first room had a strong smell of mildew coming from the air conditioner. The hotel staff quickly gave us another room, and we decided not to turn on the a/c in case it also had a strong smell. The bathroom was tight, and the sink cracked. The TV in the exercise room had no remote control, and when turned on at the screen, only one channel could be received. Breakfast was adequate, but below an average Hampton Inn. This exit at Lookout Mountain has several other hotels that you might want to consider instead of the Hampton Inn.

We stopped here on our way from Savannah, Ga to St. Louis, Mo. We found this to be a very nice place to stop for our last night of vacation. Everything was very clean and the management was very friendly. The breakfast was good and the young lady taking care of the the breakfast bar was doing a superb job of keeping everything filled and clean. It was nice that there were a few restaurants nearby and a Walmart just across the street. If you're staying in Chattanooga for other sightseeing, it is very close to the downtown area and Lookout Mountain. Would definitely recommend....

We stayed one night in this hotel, family of four, in order to do some sightseeing in Chatanooga the next day. The room was very tight for four of us, and we were very glad the stay was limited to a few hours. The full, free breakfast was nice, and added a good value to the stay. The staff was very friendly and check in/out was quick and easy. Parking was very limited. While not a part of the hotel, I would NOT recommend the Logan's restaurant across the street. The food was terrible, service was poor, and it was expensive. Lots of other choices for dining though.

Two of us stayed one night to visit Rock City. The location is great in regards to proximity to Rock City. It is terrible in regards to parking. By the time we arrived & it was a very late arrival thanks to traffic north of Atlanta, there was no parking left. The lots run the length of the hotel front and back, but do not go around it on both ends. If you get to the end of the lot in back and there is no space, you have to back up all the way to the other end. The pool is also crammed between the hotel and back parking lot, so be sure to back around it. With Richard's help we parked in the grass near what appeared to be the dumpster building. I gave the hotel a very good rating because of the people. Richard at the front desk was outstanding both when we called to say we would be late and when we arrived in a drenching rain with no place to park. The cleaning staff the next morning were exceptionally courteous and attentive. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room on the backside about half way down the hall. It was quiet and we had a view of...

This is one of the older Hampton Inns. The place, however, is well kept. My only problem with it is that the rooms tend to be noisy. You can hear conversations or the TV in the room next door and above you.

We arrived at the hotel after a long drive and had hoped to get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, at about midnight the occupants of the room above us decided that this would be a good time to do jumping jacks or whatever they were doing. We called the front desk who said they would call and handle it. I doubt that the call was ever made. The jumping continued for another 45 minutes at which time I called the room (and since I could hear the telephone ring I assumed the front desk never called since I never heard it from below) and asked the occupants to calm down - which after hearing the tone of my voice, they did!

Other than that the hotel was good. It has a good convenient location near I-24 and the room was clean with plenty of towels. The breakfast room was good the the breakfast served was a typical, good Hampton Inn breakfast.

Room Tip: Stay on the second floor to lessen the impact of walking, etc. noise.

The attention to service was great, however, our room lacked some essentials. We booked a one bedroom suite. It sounded great, but was a huge disappointment. The suite had a poor excuse for an attached bedroom. It was more of a large alcove that was converted to a bedroom. There was no door- just sheers. If that wasn't bad enough the "room" had no ventilation. We had to rig the sheers so that the a/c would flow into the room and still provide air flow for our children on the sofa bed.

The other distraction was when the kids changed the t.v. channel our t.v. changed as well.

The place was clean but dated. The service was excellent. The price and description not so much.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. We were traveling after a lovely day at the Jack Daniel's distillery in Lynchburg, TN and wanted to get as close to Tellico Plains as we could for the night.

We arrived in time for dinner and asked the front desk clerk for a recommendation of a local dining establishment instead of one of the chain restaurant choices that were across the street (Logan Steakhouse, Cracker Barrel and Waffle House).

He told us about Mount Vernon which was 2.5 mi down the road. It was an excellent local option and it was the perfect ending to our day.

Our first floor room was very clean with 2 queen size beds.

We didn't eat breakfast there but the breakfast area looked clean and inviting. The coffee was good and I picked up a banana to eat on the way out.

The luggage cart was easy to find and we were easily able to take it to the parking lot to load onto our bikes. The pool was outside but I didn't see anyone using it.

We didn't take advantage of the exercise area either but it's always nice to know it's there if you need it.

We felt fortunate to find this little gem off the I-24 highway and we appreciated the reception we received at the front desk.
