We drove 120 miles from Atlanta to Chattanooga to bring my grandson to spend the day
with "Thomas The Tank Train". We arrived Saturday morning and I realized that I had
booked the wrong RI in Chattanooga. My son and daughter had been there before and
didn't realize there were two RI's. So I went to the desk to find out if there were any
two-bedroom suites available. Happily there was one and I booked it for the AAA rate of
$227.00 for one night.(We canceled the other RI room without any charges.) The room
was not ready at 10:45, but the young man said he'd put a rush on it because my grandson
would need a nap around lunch time.

With some time to kill, we walked NEXT DOOR to the Children's Museum. It was the
best kid's museum I've ever experienced. It was perfect! A dinosaur sand room with real
fossilized skeletons, an awesome water play area, a train/car room, a roof with a giant
chess set and several kids swing pulley rides. There was a library, China exhibit, art room,
music room, play acting room etc. Awesome for kids!

After leaving, we walked across to the next block to the Blue Water Grill. We sat outside
and had fish tacos, and nachos. They had $5.00 Bloody Marys that came with just the
vodka over ice and then you visited the Bloody Mary Buffet to add just about anything
you wanted to your glass. Never seen this anywhere else.

The room was ready by 1:00p.m. and we checked in. The suite was the usual RI set up
and had the Pack'N'Play we requested. Non-feather pillows were on the beds even though
I hadn't requested them verbally.

That evening we walked NEXT DOOR to see the Chattanooga Outlook minor league
baseball game. $9.00 for the most expensive seats was a deal. There was a live reptile
display in the walkway under the stands and lots of family orientated activities.

We had breakfast the next morning. The usual RI fair. Very helpful staff to be sure that all
items remained stocked. I took my grandson swimming after breakfast and the pool was
small but clean.

We checked out with all items correct on the bill. Note: $8.00 parking per day.

The Thomas event was about 5 miles from the Inn. It was a great take for my grandson (and us).

My friends and I stayed here during a recent "girls" trip. What a friendly and inviting place to stay. The staff from the maintenance crew to the desk clerks went out of their way to make our stay perfect.

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom suite facing Chestnut Street. The room was wonderful but construction on Chest...

Very nice staff. We have stayed here 3 times. The pool has a fun view of the ball field which is is up on the hill and in walking distance. Staff should have policed up the pool area more frequently as towels were absent and some garbage was lying around. There is a really long hall that you must walk down down to get to the lobby from the rooms and pool which
I found a bit annoying. Nice firepits outside, but only once in the 3 times we were there were they on. Walking distance to the tourist area is a definite plus of this hotel. Lots of families and thus a very crowded breakfast area. Breakfast was not as good as some of the other Residence Inns we have been to. Room was nicely decorated. Only one time did we have an issue with what looked like shall we say a " brown substance better placed in porcelain bowls" on the wall. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: I would ask for upper floors that afford you a view of the city if you are the side that away from t...

This hotel has the look of a nicely done renovation. Fresh paint, new carpets and fixtures. Everything was great until the breakfast which was less than great. I could easily have done without it. Otherwise, a good place to stay. Close to restaurants.

My family used a Marriott e-certificate to spend a night in Chattanooga and visit a few local places rather than let the certificate expire. We we're able to upgrade to a 2-bedroom unit, and it was very nice. This may be the cleanest hotels I've been to in quite a while, and I mean inside as well as outside. And, you can't beat the location for convenience. It's a short walk to ecerything downtown has to offer, and the trolly stop is directly across the street, with free rides up to the Convention Center and on to the Choo Choo. In season, the Lookouts baseball team plays in a nice minor league stadium immediately behind the hotel.
The hotel has a small indoor pool, hot tub and real small exercise room (2 treadmills and 1 elliptical in one room, and a bench and dumbbells in another room). There is a pet relief area behind the hotel and a dish of pet treats on the front desk, so the hotel has some pet-friendly policies.
Our 2 bedroom suite was certainly nice. Each bedroom had a queen bed and private bath, and there was a sleeper sofa and gas fireplace in the living room. Flat panel tvs in all rooms with lots of analog and digital channels. There is a full-size refrigerator, full-size range and over, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, plus dishes and utensils.
The only thing that is annoying is the noise of garbage trucks when they hit the bump in the intersection right out front. If you are a light sleeper, you will prefer a room that doesn't face Chestnut Street.
Be advised that you self-park right behind the hotel, but it is $8.00 per night.
Check this place out on your next trip to Chattanooga. It's one of several good and affordable downtown hotels.

Three nights here in November were a delight. Clean, good looking and filled with friendly staff, this hotel provided a great place to stay.

Location is the best. Close to a large number of excellent restaurants, across the street from the electric bus terminal and walking instance to the Aquarium, Imax and and the Tennessee River.

Great location for exploring all that this unique city has to offer.

We visit Chattanooga every year and found this hotel to be very clean, comfortable and friendly. From the front desk to the cleaning staff, all were helpful and showed us Southern hospitality! The 2-bedroom suite was perfect and very clean. Great beds and beautiful full kitchen and we loved the fireplace! The smallish fitness area consists of two treadmills & an elliptical but each has a TV, which always makes a workout more enjoyable. The location of this hotel is perfect for walking access to the aquarium, IMAX, restaurants, movie theaters, and more. Thank you Downtown Chattanooga Residence Inn!
