“Fall Getaway”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

The incline train ride is worth your time. It is a short but very steep ride up the side of Lookout Mountain. We had taken a road trip from Texas to see the fall foliage. It was a disappointment on the mountain. Locals said heavy fall rains had knocked leaves off before they could change to vibrant colors. I don't know about that as the trees had lots of dull, brown leaves. It was just a bad year for pretty leaves. The.leaves in Oxford, MS and Memphis, TN were beautiful.

Gorgeous scenery, great history, and wonderful tourist attractions. This is a must visit while in Chattanooga.

Hint to travelers...Ruby Falls, Incline Railroad, Rock City, and Point Park are NOT within walking distance of each other. You will have to drive to each attraction separately.

“Beautiful views!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

The drive up Lookout Mountain is gorgeous in the fall. The panoramic views of Chattanooga from the top are spectacular. For the history buff, there are plenty of Civil War artifacts to see at the museum.

“I've been going for 30 years!!!!!!! History, Views, and Fun!”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

Been going to Lookout my whole life, for 30 yrs now, since I was a kid! Big deal to go there when I was little! Now I really appreciate all it has to offer! There is so much history, so much beauty, and so much to do. Just drive thru the neighborhoods on the brow and look at the beautiful southern homes. Walk thru Point Park and see the cannons and the Memorial to fallen soldiers. Go in the museum there and browse the adjoining souvenir shop. Take the Tram up the mountain and go thru the gift shop! (If you've never done the Tram, you absolutely must!) Ruby Falls is really really pretty with a great history. Rock City is my favorite as I am a collector of all the "red barn" memorabilia from its beginning when they painted "See Rock City" on barns everywhere. Rock City is NOT a City! It is a beautiful "back yard garden" of the owners.....who thought it so beautiful that they made it into a park with trails so that you can enjoy the natural rock formations. There is the swinging bridge, rock formations big and small, fat and thin, and of course, the climax, Lover's Leap. If it is a clear day, you WILL see 7 states from this vantage point. Gorgeous views all around everywhere, and in the fall, it is just mesmerizing! Please go to appreciate the beauty and the history!
