Second time I have been in the past 3 years. Love it. A little overpriced and basically a tourist trap but a great time. Great place to take kids. It takes about 3 hours to walk it, and take pictures and this is taking your time. Great place for pictures!! I don't know about seeing 7 states from the top, but the property is well kept, and the tour is self guided. Most of which is a flat cement trail. Even the parking attendants are friendly. Lots of fun if you are in Chattanooga.

We took the car up, and the higher we got the more we got to see. It was close to Ruby Falls, but we chose to go to the mountaintop instead.

Up there, there is a small fee to enter (around $3) but it's worth it. We got there in time to listen to a park-ranger tell the story of the significance of Lookout Mountain during the civilwar and spent a good hour walking around.

There is a small pathway at one edge, down there you can enter a really tiny museum with a lot of pictures and other stuff from the civil war era. It can be a bit sweaty to get there if the weather is hot, but I'd recommend a visit.

And guys, DO NOT FORGET THE CAMERA! You get many photo-ops there.

Great family fun. I thought it was just an over look where you looked out at the valley, but it is a scenic walk to get to the overlook. Lots of flowers, plants and trees and rock formations to see. Spend the time to walk through and see it all.

So beautiful! Spend some time there. Incline good idea. Don't forget your camera. Try the fudge. Walk down the road to the park as well.

Because the Incline was not operating during our visit, we stumbled upon Point Park..and I'm so glad we did! Although our main interest was the Civil War sites, the views from atop Lookout Mountain are absolutley spectacular. The park is well-manicured, with informative historical markers and incredible photo opportunities around every curve of the walkway. Peaceful and breathtaking at the same time.
