“THIS IS THE PLACE TO VISIT - FORGET THE CHOO CHOO”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Lookout Mountain consists of three attractions, Rock City, The Incline Railway and the underground waterfall. A ticket of about $20 gives you access to all 3.

Rock City is a beautiful garden, (you need to know the history to appreciate that it is a garden), with stunning views over several states on a clear day.

There is an incline railway which is tremendous – a 72 degree slope – it’s like a ski jump – so steep and to get the real picture of the engineering that went into building this, you need to travel up and down because each direction gives you different perspective of the railway.

Then there is the underground waterfall which is quite spectacular.

Lookout Mountain – a must see if you are ever in Chattanooga.

“Point Park is a must do!!!”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Point Park is on lookout mountain and run by the National Park Service. There is parking and a $3 admission fee, but the civil war history as well as the views overlooking Chattanooga are more than worth the price. Spend some time walking around...can't be beat. One of the highlights of my trip!!!

“Stunning Views!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

This was our second visit to Lookout Mtn. in 4 months - we love the views of the beautiful, winding TN River and Chattanooga! The summer visit was warm and very green, but the fall visit was special with the cooler temperatures and leaf color & crunch. We enjoyed seeing the artillery pieces and huge monument, and reading all the historical information about the important battle that took place high on the hill. The huge, fully restored painting (mural) of the siege is also magnificent. The visit was entertaining as well as humbling.
