This is not really a very high mountain and you can drive right to the top. The park at the top is lovely and there are several landmarks marking battles in the civil war. We were lucky in that a local police officer gave us a 15 minute 'free' history lesson about the significance of the location. It's a nice trip just a short distance from the city.

Ruby Falls has a new (to us) explorer course with climbing and other adventure courses. Lots of fun.

Our third trip to Lookout Mountain. Point Part is absolutely amazing. The view of the city as well as the ability to envision what happened during the war makes this a must stop if in Chattanooga.

A view you'll never forget. Walk through the park on top (which charges a few dollars) Beautiful old homes to see, and so much history to learn about.

We took our 4 year old train enthusiast and 8 month old daughter on the Incline Rail up the mountain. Talk about breathtaking! The ride was unsettling and fun. My son had no problem with it. The sheer height and 80 degree incline are magnificent. Very fun family outing. Worth the $.
