“An interesting and entertaining tour”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

We combined Ruby Falls with Rock City to benefit from the combined discount.
The key to this tour is the tour guide and the denouement of the falls at the end of an half-hour trip through the caverns.
Doug was our tour guide who entertained us with his Southern country accent and humour.
The caverns themselves are interesting but the trip is worth the trouble of walking cat like through low roofs and damp slippery floors for the amazing sight of the cavern and falls at the end which are lit to give the place a spiritual feel.

“Cave is not worth seeing, but falls are great”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

The cave itself is pretty miserable. The vast majority of the cool cave features have been broken off decades ago. Pretty depressing.
The guides cave knowledge was fair. He really did not seem to know much about caves other than shining a flashlight on the obviously signed "features" and activation canned audio recordings.
The real attraction is the falls. Very nice, cool sight.
Would I ever return? No, it's really not worth the admission just to see the falls. If the cave part had been in better condition, maybe.
There are MUCH better caves close by (Cumberland Caverns for one).

“Wonderful place to visit”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

My first time visiting Ruby Falls was an amazing experience. My family (husband, niece and sister-in-law) visited in 2011 on Easter weekend and it wasn't very busy. We waited around 15 minutes before going into elevator to go to caves. AS someone who is severly afraid of tight places I have to say this wasn't bad at all. The waterfall was specaticular, and as crazy as it sounds I teared up a little bit :)

“fall is the only attraction”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Our family found Ruby Falls truly amazing. It is an underground fall inside a cave. Artificial lighting enhanced our opinion of the fall. The cave itself does not have much to see. The fall is truly worth seeing once. Our children were amazed by its size and its color lighting.

We went in December 2013. It was not a busy day. We went on our tour within 30 minutes. The tour took about an hour. We were there for about 2 hours. On a busy day, you may want to budget more time for the tour.

“Capitivating Caves and Caverns”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We purchased a dual ticket for both Ruby Falls and Rock City as to save a few dollars, Our tour guide was friendly and chipper as we road the elevator shaft down to the cave entrance. Once down we had to wait for about 15 minutes, as another group was finishing up their tour. We passed several groups during our stay underground and had to wait as each group passed as the passageways were narrow. The formations and stalacitities thoughout the cave were interesting. You can hear the sound of the falls as you approach in the darkness...excitement is increasing as we get closer and all of the soudden the lights come on and there she is. The falls are awesome, but we just did not get enough time to enjoy them as our guide said it was time to go. I enjoyed the cave and falls but we were not given enough time.
