I-75 south wasn't so pleasant of a drive, but we made it. It's not 3 hours and 37 minutes drive when pulling 3500 pounds. We earned the Patty Hill badge by taking Google's directions. Take Ridge road instead. It's the next road on your right from the Interstate. The hills were steep, so make sure you have good brakes. The marina was one of the better marinas I've been to on Norris Lake. The staff were always willing to help and were friendly. Beer prices were good and gas prices not so bad either. Gas stations were behind lattice work, so while enjoying a drink at the tables, the gas pumps were not unsightly. The covered slips were clean and didn't have any birds living in the rafters above. You didn't have to worry about bird poop on your cover. Security was good as well. Many people left their belongings in the boats and trailers were left unlocked. We stayed at Poplar 3. It was clean and had a good view of the lake. When our neighbors weren't there or were asleep, we enjoyed the tree frogs in the trees. Lightening bugs were abundant also. The street lights were low so you could enjoy the stars at night. We had a fire pit to enjoy s'mores. The hot tub was clean but was off to the side in-between the cabins. The lake was clean enough to see ten to twelve feet down. We didn't eat there because we had brought our own food. Friday night was fun, listening to music on the dock, watching nice boats tie up to enjoy the music. Saturday's music was okay, but there was no crowd there. Sunday was quiet. The marina rents boats, Bentley's none the less! I did enjoy the fact that our boat slip had our name on it so other boaters knew not to take that slip. That was a treat no other boat slip I've been in has done. The slip came with the rental, so there wasn't an extra cost. We had a great time and can see returning for another stay.
