Was randomly looking for a place to land after 8 hours of driving and happened upon the Hampton Inn in Caryville - what a wonderful surprise. I guess it is true what they say about "Southern Hospitality!" We upgraded to the King Size bed with fireplace, whirlpool tub, and balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable. The employees make you feel welcome and if you are lucky enough to meet the owner, "Hack", then you're in for a real treat. I've never written a review before, but there is something special about this place that makes you want to share it with others.

We stayed here while looking for property on Norris Lake. We had a balcony (back of hotel doesn't have balconies) & could sit out in the chairs & enjoy the spectacular lake & mountain view! Owner & employees make you feel very welcome. Bed was a little firm for me, hubby liked it (you get 4 comfy pillows w/king bed). There was also a sleeper sofa (didn't use), bottles of Hampton shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. The hotel is dated, but it was comfortable & very clean. The Japanese restaurant (Takumi?) was very good - we ate there. You can actually get a beer there:) We will absolutely stay here again when in the area.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking lake & mountains have balconies.

Yes it's a "standard" Hampton Inn but is owned and operated by caring people who appear to have a genuine interest in making sure their guests are comfortable. Very clean and uniquely decorated. I would have absolutely no problem recommending this place to my Boss (think about that...)

The location and atmosphere are outstanding and the staff is extremely friendly & helpful. To say that the hotel is clean would be an understatement...it was immaculate and such a pleasure after a long drive. The view from the balcony is very pretty. The hallways are lined with old photos and memorabilia. Just the kind of place I love to stay but are hard to find. I look forward to passing through again and will make sure my room is reserved well in advance. Such a plus for Hampton Inns to claim...this one is a notch above the rest. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!!

Room Tip: Try to get a balcony room. Freeway side but NO noise.

We love this place. It's the only hotel we specifically remember and try to return to when we travel thru this area. Service is excellent; beds are great; and the decor and pictures that the owner has displayed throughout the hotel are what makes it memorable.
