Description: Jim and Jerry Chandler opened the first Sportsman's Grille restaurant in 1985 with ten items on the menu. They wanted to recreate a northern hunting lodge atmosphere with fresh, hand-packed burgers, chili, catfish and cold beer. The business and menu have since expanded with the purchase of the Gerst Haus (German-American restaurant) in 1988, opening of Sportsman's Grille in the Village in 1991 and opening of Sportsman's Lodge in 2000. Jim and Jerry's wives, children and sons-in law are now involved in the businesses, which also include Melrose Billiards (opened in 1969) and three restaurants in Evansville, Indiana. The family's passion for good food, comfortable atmosphere and family gatherings inspire them to provide a great all-around experience. The service is friendly and all food is prepared with the freshest, natural ingredients from family recipes.

Went after church with the family..Got a nice round table and started to get some soups and salad. Had a mexican/chicken soup of some that was decent. The rest of the meal was made with lower quality and was not good. The server was not good either. His personality was not something you would see in the south in regards to cheerfulness and service. It has a nice lodge feel inside but the food is subpar and we won't return.

The food was good. Our table had a variety of meals and everyone left happy. Steak, catfish, chicken, Philly cheesesteak all cooked well! The server was excellent. Good drink selections and a variety of craft beers available too.

Always good, and our place to go and feel like we are eating in the Rockies. We ordered the Philly Kielbasa that is no longer on the menu, but can be requested. Their BBQ, and seafood is always a treat,

We had a large group eat here with reservations. We had trouble finding it because it is tucked behind an office building and the sign at the street is for the other restaurant in the same parking lot. The place had great atmosphere and great food. The server we had was very efficient and patient. For such a large group, everything went very smoothly. The catfish was delicious. I'd eat here again if I'm back in town.

In addition to wonderful chicken fingers and catfish, you need to try the pan-fried grouper (order with with the skewered grilled vegetables on the side) - as good as anything you'll find on the coast. Plus, we love the salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing. If you're not starving, this is easily a meal that can be shared.
