I was looking forward to a long, relaxing weekend and had bought the Band of Brothers video series because this hotel advertised VCR's. The outside appearance was nice enough. I did notice a sign that said "Not resposible for theft to private vehicles." The lobby area was very nice and the gentleman that checked us in was efficient and polite. Upon entering the elevator to go to our room, the nightmare began. The elevator had a stinky stench in it and it was extremely slow, so you really had time to notice the smell. Upon getting off the elevator to go to our room, we noticed the hallways were dingy looking and the carpet was worn and wrinkled with humps. When we entered our room, there was a worse stench than in the elevator. There were about six areas where the carpet was humped up (needed stretching really, really bad) the full length of the room. If someone were to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, there would certainly be a hazard of tripping. The room was dark and dreary. The bedspread was worn and looked worse than any bedspread I've ever seen in a hotel. Then, I noticed there was no VCR. I went back to the desk, informing the clerk that I had specifically booked a hotel with VCR's for having a quiet weekend to watch the series. He told me they had taken the VCR's out of the rooms a long time ago. I told him their web site advertised such and that we had a problem. The assistant manager of the hotel called our room and was a bit pompous and arrogant in his response to my complaint. He offered nothing to remedy the situation and did not even apologize. Via my cell phone, I located another hotel and we left this one. Upon telling the desk that we were checking out, they attempted to charge me .57 for the assistant manager's call to our room, which I refused to pay. I'll also add, it makes one a bit paranoid when you not only see the aforementioned sign stating they are not responsible for theft to vehicles in the parking lot, but also posted at the check-in desk and on a card sitting on the desk in your room as well. For some reason, they want to make it VERY clear that they aren't responsible. It makes one wonder WHY they have covered this in such depth? Brentwood is an upscale suburb of Nashville and this facility definitely is a blemish in their lodging offerings.

I don't know why the other reviewer's had such a bad time. My family and I have been here 4 times and we have enjoyed it every time. We have a 20 dog who travels with us and not only was she accomidated here, the employee's were very nice to her (sounds funny, but some places "accept" dogs, but really hate them). Staff was friendly, rooms always clean, GREAT location, easy to find, breakfast is really good for a continental -- we got to make our own waffles almost every morning. The pool was a little too cold that last time we were there, but it was mid-September.

This place was rundown and awful. When the first room was grungy, we thought we would give them a second chance and asked for another. They were rude, but we checked out the second room. Still rundown and awful. When we said we wanted to leave, they had the audacity to "inspect" the room before they refunded out money. As if we went to this awful place for a "quickie" and then checked out 10 minutes later. Unbelievably bad!

We stayed at Amerisuite in Brentwood from July 6th-13 2003- accommodations were clean, hotel could use refreshing but overall we enjoyed our stay. Room very adequate for 4 people - did not use the pull out sofa- so could take 6. Buffet breakfast included- lots of food, very good. Staff was excellent and went out of their way to accommodate. Pool open til 10 pm- laundry facilities 20 minutes from airport 35 min. from Opryland (upto 1hr 15min in rush hour traffic.)Galleria mall in Cool Springs 10 minutes south- great shopping- couple restaurants close, Shoneys, Wendys, Waffle House- quiet location away from traffic but close enough to everything.
