“Just another tourist trap”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Lots of cheap, Chinese made products to commemorate your trip. Unless you absolutely must stop and see what the signs along the highway are all about, I wouldn't bother.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Had heard lots about this, Cold the day we went so they had closed the "backyard" early. Otherwise just shops. We had called before stopping so expected it to be available.

“A great surprise and we loved it”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We did not know what to expect but stopped off anyway. And so glad we did! The sheer rambling size of Wall Drug got to us first, and then the eclectic mix in room after room of the store, the great collection of books about the West in the bookstore, and then - best of all - the wonderful mechanical puppets, the insane Dinosaur and the singing Beaver miners amongst others. And we liked the old photographs with the story of the family and how the store had come about.

“Yes, It IS not to be missed!”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

If you find yourself in Rapid City to view Mt. Rushmore be sure to drive to Wall Drug. It's only 45 minutes from Rapid City and well worth the experience ; food at about half price you would expect to pay (including homemade delicious donuts), all types of Western clothing (good assortment of boots and hats), an extensive Western art annex. Be sure to ask for the file drawers containing hudreds of prints and posters. The array of Old West sculpture kept us busy just walking up and down aisles. I wish I had delayed purchasing a Remington reproduction as here it was priced at half what I had paid already on this trip. Yes, I urge you not to pass up a trip to spend a few hours at Wall Drug. Incidently, I was told there is now a Wall Drug highway sign in all of our 50 states. Great marketing. Great merchandising!

“Wall Drug”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

They sure didn't seem very friendly. It was the end of the day, so maybe they were "all" worn out. It had many shops all connected together and when we got the the pharmacy there wasn't much to choose from.
