Description: The restaurant is situated in a location close to the water's edge near the marina in Finikas on the west side of the Greek Cyclades Island of Syros. At Dia Xeiros you will be able to enjoy our homemade pies, made in the traditional way. They may remind you of the sort of homemade pies you could eat in their village from Grandma ... But even those who have never experienced these you may pleasantly discover new definitions of "homemade", "pure" and "traditional". You MUST try, Strapatsada, fried feta with pastry and honey, homemade pies and "daily" dishes. Dia Xeiros also offers homemade dishes such as stuffed cabbage, pasticcio, moussaka, faggots, burgers, pasta, vegetable dishes such as green beans, okra, braised, stewed beef, stewed or oven cooked chops, meatballs, stuffed meatloaf, and more... Every day we cook two or three different dishes and we serve fresh fish (from the local fisherman). You can enjoy dining on our spacious exterior terrace with beautiful waterside views in the summer or in our interior dining room during the cooler times. Our dishes are also available for take away.

“Simply Great Authentic Greek Food”
Reviewed June 22, 2014

This is an awesome little family run restaurant with authentic, simple and delicious Greek cuisine. It has a friendly laid back atmosphere where you feel like part of the extended family. I regularly bring clients to Dia Xeiros and they are ALWAYS impressed. The prices are some of the lowest in the Cyclades and all without diminishing the quality of the food and service. Also I highly recommend their home cooked pies for a lunch on the patio or on the go but you had better get there early. They are usually all snapped up before early afternoon.

The food is fantastic and fresh made out of fresh basics.
The service is perfekt and the boss always friendly and joking.
One topic is the daughter....she plays sometimes selfwritten songs. Witch causes often spontanious parties

“Great food, home style hospitality”
Reviewed June 9, 2014 via mobile

We visited Dia Xeiros on a stopover when we chartered a boat out of Athens.

I couldn't find this restaurant on trip advisor for several tries. But I felt so strongly about them that I had to keep trying. Delicious food. They raise their own chicken (chicken pies) grow their own herbs (we could see them next to the restaurant) and cook everything themselves. In fact Dia Xeiros means hand made, or home made.

Please don't miss this place. Husband has lots of personality and friendly world advice. Wife wonderful cook. Beautiful children.

“Excellent food and friendly staff”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

We called in for an evening meal in the port of Finikas whilst sailing with 'Off The Beaten Tack' and enjoyed a very tasty freshly cooked meal beautifully prepared by Thalia and served by her husband Sotiris. The food was typical for the region using fresh meat, fish, herbs and other local produce. Most importantly, the menu was honest and unpretentious and remained true to Greek traditional cooking and was in a different league to the 'bland touristy menu' sometimes found in popular harbour restaurants. The evening was rounded off by some beautiful singing and guitar playing by the owners very talented daughter.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that I will be coming back in the next few weeks and highly recommend Dia Xeipos to others lucky enough to be visiting Syros Island.

“Great food, very friendly hosts”
Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

On a bareboat sailing trip with friends we stopped in Finikas and chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. The owner, who recommended dishes, his wife who superbly prepared them and their children, who served and serenaded our party, made the birthday truly memorable. Ouzo, local wine and espressos flowed freely until well past midnight. In sum, food was very good and the welcoming and festive atmosphere created by the family that runs this restaurant is exceptional.
