This was a very great stay! Good location if you like seclusion peace and quiet but i was there right before the season started... the cabin itself was great loved the outdoor deck in the evening you could see the local wildlife coming and going. The creek just across the way was peaceful it was nice to listen too also... to someone that lives ina small city its comfortable to listen too. The location was pretty good also, the black hills 14a route was right down the road and badlands about an hr away. Ty Al for being so helpful greatly appreciated. Made my first trip to south dakota awsome! I will definately book again on next trip there!!
I loved staying at Al's cabin. The cabin is beautifully handcrafted, has the most beautiful views I've ever seen and is just magical. Has all amenities so you never need to leave he cabin if you don't want to! And Al couldn't be a better host. He responds within minutes to any questions or concerns. This cabin is 5 minutes to spearfish but still just slightly lodged away enough to feel like you're in the middle of the wilderness. Love this place.
We were fortunate to visit this wonderful lodge at the height of fall color. The vistas were amazing. Coyote Ridge Lodge is fully outfitted with everything that you could possibly need. The location is remote and quiet, but convenient to town and all the cool things the area offers. The owner, Al, has complied an excellent, comprehensive folder explaining various points of interest (both nearby and within a couple hours drive) which really helps in using your time efficiently. I strongly suggest reading Al’s personal history of building and owning the Lodge over a period of 40 years. And do it at the beginning of your visit-it certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the property, understanding the labor of love and persistence that resulted in Coyote Ridge Lodge. If the opportunity presents itself, you cannot go wrong with a stay at Al’s Lodge.
It was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. We enjoyed out time away from everything. Great weather to enjoy the fireplace, and a hike through the woods. Thanks for everything!
