We happened into Bros Brasserie after reviewing its menu. It's very eclectic and wide-ranging. So much so that we wondered if Bros could actually deliver on its potential. By and large, it did. All of the food (admittedly, we did not have appetizers or dessert) was well-prepared and delicious. Moreover, since we were there on a Tuesday, they have all day Happy Hour where their array of craft draft beers are available at two-for-one prices. Better yet, they let you select two different beers for that promotion. Thus, my wife and I could sample four different, and hard-to-find, options.
I would love to give Bros five stars. For the food, yes. The service was fair at best (the waiter did not check back with we had finished our food, and neglected to bring the sweetener for one of our party's iced tea until reminded--twice). The dining room in which we were seated (facing the kitchen) gets *VERY* hot. The windows face west, thus, late in the day the sun blazes in--and there are no blinds or shades. No ceiling fans, either. Add a nearby kitchen, and the room gets beyond toasty. That might be a great feature in February, but in July, when it's 95 outside, um, not so much.
For SF, Bros is a tad pricey. But for the quality of the food and the preparation, it's worth it.
