We spent two nights at this delightful place. The first night having arrived early evening after a long drive from montana via devil's tower and deadwood we had a delightful meal at their restaurant/bar which is next door to the B & B and they kept it open until we had finished . Lee and Sheri joined us for some conversation with Lee telling us stories of his life as a ship's captain. The next morning Sheri made us breakfast after asking what we would prefer to eat which was a nice touch and we ate outside in conversation with other guests and Sheri who joined in.The inn is situated just off the main road close enough to find the place easily but not too close as to be disturbed by passing trafic. The room was spacious and clean with a wonderful view of the countryside. Sheri gave us directions on places we wanted to visit only 16 miles from Mount Rushmore and recommended some good restaurants to visit in Rapid City all in all a wonderful place to stay with peaceful surroundings and excellent hosts.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Sweetgrass. It has a great location, and by a sheer chance, we had the place to ourselves. The breakfasts are simply wonderful and it was fun to decide what you would have for breakfast. Each morning we tried something new. Sheri gave us some great advice on where to go and when was the best time to go. After the crowds and noise of the day, it was nice to be able to return to the inn where it was quiet and peaceful. It was truly the best part of our vacation. I also appreciated having the use of a fridge in the commons area. After our stay, we had a 2-day drive and it was nice to have a place to store our food for the drive.

My husband and I spent 3 nights over Labor Day weekend at this wonderful b&b. After a long drive from Chicago, we needed a place where we could relax and that would be a jumping off point for our visits to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer National Park and Devil's Tower. Sweetgrass' location on the south side of Rapid City was perfect; and it was still a 5 minute drive to downtown restaurants and shops. At first I was a little concerned that the b&b was too close to a busy street and the noise would be a problem, but it was wonderfully quiet especially in the morning. Shari was a lovely host, gave us great tips, and prepared a wonderful, hearty breakfast every morning in company with Lee and Benny, the dog and Shadow, the cat. We where in the Meadowsage Room which had a roomy bathroom including a jacuzzi tub which we sadly did not use. There is no cable but you can rent movies at the nearby Walgreens or bring your own DVD. Be aware that cell phone access can be iffy in the Black Hills. Overall, it was a lovely experience for a reasonable price.

A friend and I were spending a week in and around Rapid City and looked for a Bed and Breakfast in a great location. We found it in the Sweetgrass Inn. We stayed in the Prairie Room which has two double beds and is very roomy, including the bathroom. Everything was clean. There was a great view from our window. Shari was a great hostess and breakfast was never the same but always very good! She enjoys spending time with her guests and we enjoyed talking with her over coffee each morning. Her husband Lee was also very friendly and we enjoyed talking with him as well. As I said, the Sweetgrass Inn is in a wonderful location. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to this area.

We just hoped to find something affordable during the bike rally, I couldn't believe we found an actual B&B with the most competitive prices in the area!

Sheri & Lee were kind & helpful with everything from suggestions & directions to printing our boarding passes, the room was quiet & cozy, the breakfasts were made-to-order every morning, & the location was perfect--in the middle of all the action, North to Deadwood & Sturgis, South to Mt. Rushmore & Custer State Park. I especially liked the easy access to the airport for our 6AM flight home!

This place felt like home on the first night, we really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, & we are already planning another stay!
